The problem with Appleseed XIII is that it's much too ambitious for what it's able to pull off. Cramming everything into two movies only makes it worse and it even leaves out some of the best parts of the TV series however it's more compact so it doesn't feel so slow but anyway the movies are just as sloppy as the series
The animation wasn't disgraceful, just distracting, world wise it's good but character's wise it looks bad, the action scenes were good enough i guess, for a movie i expected more but it looks like a bad video game, i'm not a big fan of CGI since almost everytime it looks bad, rush or cheap so don't take my word on this because you need to see to know if you like the animation style.
Overall:
For a remix movie i wasn't expecting it to be great but they didn't improve at all in any aspects.
