the stories are completly different but the way how the plot change and they repeat the same thing over and over again reminded me of Higurashi! also both anime have female tsundere/crazy characters! and a guy involved with them xD

Both seem to be cheerful at first glance but hide a darker and deeper plot. Both use the premise of loops. Both have elements of mystery.

Dark fantasy with intricate plot twists based on the clever use of death and rebirth cicle

In both Anime we have a Harem in which a male main character come to a new location and met some girls with which he make friends and spent a lot of time. Both Anime seem to be cheerful at first but with the way of the story they get a much darker and deeper plot with some kinds of mystery, an intense of violence and a lot of psychological elements, in which the characters can become to insane. Another mutuality is that both series are shown with an arc format, in which the characters revival after they die.

Has the same type of deal with the looping of the series if you die then having to do it differently after death until problem is solved. Though one is game-based. Main character is male, and the characters can become insane. Which I find very similar to both animes. So far.

Time Loops, Fucked up psychological thriller with Re:Zero having better voice cast and animation.

If you love the feeling of being shocked, you shouldn't miss any of these two series. These two series are powerful enough to manipulate audience's feelings. Things seem to be pleasant at first but soon the dark side comes into play. A deep mystery is shrouded in them.

Did you enjoy Re:Zero? Did it leave you wanting more brutal deaths, torture, and time loops? If so, then you will love Higurashi. Higurashi begins like any classic, slice-of-life anime then slowly divulges its brutal and gory nature as it brutally murders its characters before returning to the beginning and doing it all over again. If you wanted to see Subaru suffer more, then watch Higurashi and watch the characters suffer terrible fates again and again. Higurashi is very similar to Re:Zero but focuses on the mystery of the time loops.

Plot Heavy and Time Travel or the idea of messing with Timelines is explored!

They don't seem too similar at first glance, with Re:Zero being a action/fantasy with dark themes and Higurashi being a classic horror series in the otaku community, but they are. Both are in time loops, except while in Higurashi Keiichi is unaware of it, Subaru from Re:Zero is. They both deal with dark, sometimes gory themes, included but not limited to; torture, insanity, watching friends die, and more, but it takes more of a forefront in Higurashi, with it being more strictly related to horror. Not enough yandere in Re:Zero though. Shame.

-Both these series share the basic idea of rewinding back in time back to when all the characters were alive. -Lots of Psychological and Thrilling elements to keep you on the edge of your seat -Few hard-to-watch scenes also exist, where you feel like looking away

Same type of anime with great killing spree or violence. Both Anime are Masterpiece and with a search for a piece for puzzle.Higurashi has sequel named 'Kai' that has solution to the main series.Re:Zero also has a sequel for the mystery solution and will be aired soon.Highly recommended anime for Re:Zero lovers.

Shows where a single linear story leads up to different outcomes with a certain character reincarnating at a certain point in time at the beginning of it all. These 2 can be a bit confusing at times, but it all makes sense at the end. But if you are easily disturbed by violent content, I wouldn't recommend either of these.

They are both shows about time loops with gruesome deaths and a have a mystery that is unravelled with each loop.

Something happens that is very similar, but it's a spoiler... Make sure to watch seasons 1 and 2 of Higurashi to fully understand.

Both are very dark and gore series about characters trying to a terrible fate. Both series also disguises them self as harem series.

If you are a big fan of Psychological animes then these are my two big recommendations that go well. Both have that "return by death" element in the series, and saving the people you care about, but what's more shocking is these people actually have sides you would never expect until a certain event happens. The gore and horror scenes are also pretty great for both.
