Both revolve around a normally-realistic setting combined with alien and supernatural elements, and are built around a group of characters who take on non-specific jobs. Neither really has a plot, and both hang more on their huge casts than anything else.

Both are set in a town where aliens from other planets/dimensions invades the town but then lives alongside human there, although conflicts still sometimes clash here and there. Main characters are associated in a small organization (Libra and Yorozuya). Quirky characters, lively atmosphere and actions, with heartwarming moments and a bit drama. Both shows also features similar casts of voice actors.

They're both set in a modern city that aliens and humans inhabit. Both of them give off a feeling of randomness (at least judging from episode 1), although Gintama is more comedic. Zap and Hijikata have similar personalities and voice actors, same with Leo and Shinpachi.

Both shows revolve around a world where humans and otherworldly beings coexist. Plus, you'll recognize some of the voice actors of the leads in both shows.

Well you see, both Kekkai Sensen & Gintama share mostly the same genre. You got Aliens & Monsters in the town battering for some whatever something. Comedies are included too but in Gintama- you'll laugh your @ss off from dirty jokes. Action is of-course included, right? Now for the important info, a few VA from Gintama are also dubbing Kekkai Sensen! :O ->Shinpachi VA, Hijikata VA, Kagura VA, Ayame VA and more? In conclusion, I would say that Gintama & Kekkai Sensen is worth your time. Both are good shows but can you survive the jokes and comedies in "GOATama"?

Both anime are good combination between supernatural and sci-fi genre, Where comedy are hilarious and fun. Both story is about a glasses-wearing who live/came to city that filled with creatures that came from another world, Where, In that city, They met white-haired guy who also ride motorcycle. Those two later joins organization which also dealing with supernatural issue. Gintama has more episode though. Both series also have many cast that share similar voice actor/actress
