Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is the romance version of Gintama. It has the same kind of humor. While it is a Romance, it spends its entire time making fun of the Romance genra, exactly how Gintama spends all of its time make fun of Battle genera. Both are 10/10 in the humor department. ... Similarities, hmmm.. They both take place in Japan.. I think. While not having much in common plot/setting/genera wise, IF you are looking for something that is fall on the floor spray milk out your nose funny, then go watch Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Not very similar in terms of setup but the humor in both shows hits more often than it misses. If you like watching a varied cast of lovable characters acting like idiots or doing random/quirky stuff you'll most likely find something enjoyable in both shows. Very hard to dislike any character from either show since character chemistry is a big part of both. Gekkan Shoujo is only 12 episodes and easy to get into because of that, but because of its shortness someone who has watched Gintama might finnish the series in just a few hours. On the flipside: Gintama is 360+ episodes total and much more   read more

1. Both are unexpected titles. You think Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a romance shoujo anime. You think Gintama is just another samurai anime. You're wrong, because everyone is just a dork. 2. Both have the same humor. They give you hope and then it all just comes crashing down. 3. Both have a plot that the original author/mangaka can't touch on frequently. In Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, the plot is the relationship between Chiyo and Nozaki, but the two can't really progress much because that would signal the end of the series. In Gintama, the main plot is Kiheitai,   read more

Are you tired of shows that offer nothing new to the table and only recycle story ideas over and over? And have you started thinking you want to make fun of these never-ending clichés? Let these two shows do the job for you. The sources of laughter are generally the amount of hilarious parodies of clichés of the genre/demography they represent. While Gintama makes fun of overly-used shounen ideas, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun does it on the shoujo aspect. And they are done by their own colorful cast that you can't help but adore. So if you loved one of them, you'll love the other too.

At first glance, you see nothing in common between those two, but the comedy in both anime is HILARIOUS. Both series are set in Japan, but one in modern time and the other one in Edo (ancient Japan). Sure they have their differences like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a shoujo type of anime and Gintama is a shounen type, but Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is like Gintama (without the dirty jokes) with romance, set in modern days. At the end, they are quite similar. Honestly, they are one of the best comedy anime I've ever seen. TRY THEM!!
