The art director of magical users club is the same as the original creator of Prince Tutu! The scenarios the characters get into and the main character's personality are very similar to that of Duck in princess tutu. I thoroughly enjoyed this as much as I do princess tutu, but it has a little more broad appeal that tutu did. So even if tutu wasn't exactly your thing, you may like this more.
Magic User's Club and Princess Tutu are two magical girl anime that had the involvement of two veterans in the genre: the director Junichi Sato and the character designer + animation director Ikuko Itoh. Both of these anime are about a young girl with occasional self-doubt and clumsiness (the main character in both anime are great and adorable in my opinion), and though Princess Tutu is more darker and dramatic, both anime have an equally big emphasis on comedy.
