The artwork and colors were markedly similar between the two. Both make beautiful use of CG and blend it seamlessly with the normal animation. Both movies also contain very deep philosophical elements and excellent action/violent scenes.
Both play with the philosophical question of "is anything real, or are we just living a one big dream".
Even though these don't share any genre entries both feel a lot in common not only for the story concept, but also the setting makes you feel similar. These two will show enigmatic atmosphere of some weird places, people being tracked in a spiral of repeated events. Will they get out of the loop?
The sequel of the first part of their respective franchise that stands out from the rest with unique visual gimmicks. They feature tons of eye-catching gory action scenes and present an unmatched atmosphere with aesthetic and spectacular backgrounds. They’re very trippy and mind-boggling at times with recurrent scenes and thrilling moments. All aim to play philosophical questions about reality and the human mind.
