Very similar art, and both are sports anime. Both sports attract more of the female audience than male audience. Difference: MC in ballroom actually grows throughout the season , while the MC in haikyuu remains childish to the very end. (you can tell by how they argue with their partner, the latter's "fights" being meaningless, repetitive, and more for a comedic effect than for development) Ballroom is more for the more matured audience. Despite ballroom dancing being a sport where you can be very close to the women, there is significantly less sexualization than in haikyuu. Similar art and character design, same music composer. The main character starts out as a weak little thing, but he has a natural talent and once he knows that he wants to do something ( dance/play volleyball) he has a great passion and keeps practicing to become the very best. Apart from that - great story, very engaging, action, a little bit of drama, school life etc.

If you've watched Haikyuu then you will definitely like Welcome to the Ballroom, they are different in terms of sports but the thrill you get from watching it and the drama/upbeat feelings you get from it are very similar. This is an anime you definitely should not pass up.

Both are sports anime. Kitahra look and acting like Hinata. I dont want to do any spoilers but when i watched Ballroom it's reminded me Haikyuu.

The two deal with different sports and similar arts made by the same company (Production I.G). With perfect doubles Hinata and Kageyama, Fujita and Hyoudou. And they are incredibly produced and striking mainly for the genre of the sport.

Both are sports anime and have amazing animation (Production I.G) Both have the main duo that later in the story have to "overcome some obstacles" in order to dance(Ballroom)/play volleyball(Haikyuu) together as best as they can In both anime there is a great character development

Both shows combine relationships with sport competitions, and show how characters improve their sport skills while becoming part of a team.

After witnessing remarkable performances of their respective role models both Tatara and Hinata take up hobbies they are inexperienced in and struggle to find their footing in a world of talented professionals and prodigies. Both series feature a lineup of loveable rivals as well as main characters blessed with a certain raw and natural talent on journies to become the best at their respective sports.

Both feature main characters who start off lacking technique but have a unique talent that they polish throughout the series to help them grow in their respective sports.

Both animes make things that seem rather boring or not interesting into something extremely thrilling and exciting to watch. Haikyuu with volleyball and Welcome to the Ballroom with dancing,
