Do you love complex power systems in your Anime? Then World Trigger is the Anime for you. Very few stories put as much love and care into balancing powers as these two series do.
Do you also love a cast of so many interesting characters that the MC disappears for a bit and the story carries on with no problem? Watch World Trigger. Similar to Hunter x Hunter, the real focus is the world around them, not just the core cast of characters. Which means many people you are introduced to will have personalities and affect the world for the better or the worse.
It may apply for the first season of World Trigger if you were to ignore one detail, the animation. The second season has a major upgrade on visuals. The power system may not leave much space for unique powers to each character like in HxH's case but it has the element that the rules are defined and it's up to characters' strategies for the possibility of winning battles. World Trigger season 2 won't work best if you can't understand Trion because you still need to watch the first season and it's not as willing to delve into more mature themes like Hunter X Hunter but
