Yeah, it feels like they were way a head of time in terms of quality back then. However another reason I also like older anime art, not only Studio Ghibli, is because the plot of several anime are much darker compared to now, also no of the modern -dere archetypes or so.

Np, just chill :P

I just really love HQ backgrounds and good animation, added with a good story as well then it's great. Now Studio Ghibli is an exception, I can watch any of their film, no matter when they made it, they were just so great. I've tried watching Cowboy Bebop, but the art is so, outdated... Sometimes the story is good as well, but it's more difficult when it's anime like them, I mean like NGE was good, but still. Yea, but at the same time some anime also feels really, well, clichéd and all + some failed quite miserably (PSO2 etc.). I however don't mind clichés. We're in it together :P

Ikr, if you have a connection with them, it's easier to be open to them instead of just, "hi this is a random friend request". I know some also open up to others after random friend requests, but I've seen too many who doesn't. I'd like to say I chat with most of my friends on a regular basis.

I do as well, but adding a bit of comedy and maybe even harem then it was easier for me to get used to it. Though usually harems go nowhere, romance might be overshadowed by comedy... all of those can be annoying. However! That's not the important part of it, the thing is it have romance, with those romantic moments I got used to them and actually started liking romance, just not taking it as serious yet. I finished Hotarubi no Mori e (just a 45 min movie) and noticed how pure romance can be... Don't check the spoiler if you want to watch the show.

Haha, being picky eh? I'm glad I don't have that trait, while I tend to be picky, then it's only for the most serious romance anime or older anime. I'm not really into older anime art, but I do like some anime from before year 2000 and so.

Haven't heard about it, might check it out some day.

Thanks for understanding. Don't worry about that, it's mainly because I actually want to have a connection to the "friends" and not only be random "friends" who never chat with each other.

Interesting, seems like most males start with action/adventure in the anime category. Personally I dislike FMA, so not everyone likes it :P It's too boring for me, while that might not be true, then I just feel like nothing is happening, I've tried watching it several times, but never caught my curiosity... Before watching NNB I thought all kind of SoL anime was boring, mostly because I only watched anime in some specific genres.
Until as of lately I thought light hearted romance was the best, but it annoyed me when it goes nowhere. I'm aiming for more serious romance anime now, but it's kinda difficult to get involved with them. Don't worry about that, even I feel like a newcomer, I mean I can't even decide how strict I should be with rating, I enjoy them too much :/

When I was really a newcomer, I mean before I started watching all sorts of anime. I only watched action/adventure/horror. That's because before watching anime I liked James Bond type of movies, Steven Seagal action movies and I played a lot FPS games, e.g. Battlefield, CoD etc. At the same time I liked Strategy games, especially Warcraft III and later on it would be LoL. Thanks to those I also liked adventure movies, which resulted in me getting attached to them here as well. Especially after watching Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
As I mentioned above I didn't watch any SoL/Romance/Comedy anime that much as they were "boring" in my eyes. That changed when I watched NNB (Non Non Biyori). It really changed my whole view on all anime and the genres, it opened up a whole new world for me. That's where I really started watching SoL/School anime and I don't regret watching them even today. I mean c'mon my top favourite character is from a Rom/Com :P

Thing is, even if you're new I won't add random friend requests, which is why I stated it in my profile, "random friend requests wont get accepted, please let's have a conversation first". While it may sound harsh, then it's just to get friendly users.
