In the past, Archer might have shared similar ideals with Shirou as he speaks from personal experience when he scolds Shirou, but now they are separated by a world of experience. Archer is much more sophisticated and refined while Shirou is naive due to his lack of experience. Currently, they are not similar characters at all.

Of course, I've considered them, and I'd found most were unreasonable in the given context. You seem to fail to differ between what is good and what is trying to be good. With your mentality, you could defend pretty much any anime.
