Really late reply. Sorry. I just haven't found the time to. My life's been hectic lately.

My favorite moments in Homestuck (excluding any of the [ S ]) are: anything involving Dave rap, Vriska and John's dead d8, all of trickster, anything involving Roxy's typos, Caliborn shooting Gamzee, Brain Ghost Dirk attacking Aranea, and all of the Midnight Crew's intermission.

My ships are JohnxVriska, DavespritexJade, DavexTerezi, KanayaxRose, and KurlozxMeulin. I'm conflicted about RoxyxJohn, KarkatxTerezi, and DirkxJake. I think Roxy and John would be a cute couple, but not as powerful and emotionally solid as my top ship (VriskaxJohn.) KarkatxTerezi is probably an endgame ship, but I just can't help but feel that Dave needs the love (even though I read a theory that spells disaster for the knight of time.) And as much as I want Dirk to be happy, I don't think Jake or anyone can actually manage to reciprocate his feelings.

Yeah, that bothers me too. I'm not against loud fangirl/boy-ing but at least know the entirety of the work you're gushing about.

On a side note, what's your favorite moment(s) in Homestuck and who are your ships?

Gamzee ranks as one of my least favorite characters in Homestuck (along with Tavros and Sollux.) But I agree, he was pretty alright when he wasn't sober.

As for converting, yeah. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't really talk to my non-Homestuck friends about the webcomic unless they seem interested. Although, lately, I got this one guy into HS and I've been regretting it. He's not even halfway in Act 6 and he's so loud and pushy about the thing. I wish I could talk theories to him and ease his eagerness, but he just refuses to progress any further. Dirk condemn anyone who fails to experience the alpha-kids and calls themselves fans.

There's actually a Homestuck community here. The only downside is that it's not active. Even when gigapause wasn't a thing, the community was pretty slow.

Glad to know that you recognized Kurloz. He's my favorite dancestor and Makara. The other one can go drown in a warm lake of Equius' sweat for all I care.

I have a trick for getting your friends to not hate you: CONVERT THEM. I did this. And am still doing it.

Oh! So you don't have NGE listed on your "watched" list :) I agree that you can't really like Shinji - way too much crying, being weak and cowardice! But I think the autor wanted it to be that way - in the end, he's just a kid piloting a huge mech: I guess it'a bit too much for him :) And it's true, the animation towards the end was bad and you're right - they got low on budget! If you want to actually see how the series truly ends (cause the series finale is actually some sort of "alternative ending!" sic!), you must watch the movie "NGE: The End of Evangelion". Then you can watch the "rebuild" movies "Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone" and "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance". They've got flawless animations and I personally love them. Oficially they say it's the series remake ... but some fans think it's actually a sequel :) You'd have to watch it, to understand what I'm talking about ^^ And speaking of Kara no Kyoukai: I watched 3 out of 7 movies that are out and personally I really hate them. I know that a lot of people like them, but for me the movies had extremely bad story (absurde, ridiculous and not making much senses), bad character development, characters acting weird and unnatural, they were boring, partially stupid. And they had a lot of "pseudophilosofical" bullshit about life etc that actually didn't mean much. I had the impression that the authors of the movies thought of the viewers as of dumbheads or something like that.

If you liked Madoka, which is a "mahou shoujo" deconstruction (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Deconstruction) and you were surprised by how the show develops, you could try to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's a deconstruction of the "mecha" stuff, it's very weird to watch and sometimes hard to understand, but I liked it. And the movies (Rebuild) got fantastic animations. It's considered to be a "cult" series, but a lot of people hate it too, so you have to check it on your own :)

Well I really love Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - they had this great idea to take the simple idea of "magical girls" and to show it in a grim, dark, brutal and more realistic way. My personal favorite of 2012 was Sakamichi no Apollon - a great story about frienship, growing up and jazz music (from Shinichiro Watanabe who did Cowboy Bebop!). I highly recomend it! :)

That's pure freedom! It's indeed very appealing :D He was surely the best character of the series.
