I guess anime characters do look the same, although I find there are some shows that have a slightly distinct flavour. Nothing too drastic but enough for me to take notice like Ojamajo Doremi (children's magical girl show) has this slightly different aesthetic. Although, the face is pretty basic. Not much to differentiate between character's face if they were bald. xD (There also loli to add to that list, since that kind of character boy seems to be gaining popularity....)

I was never interested in comics. I got into manga through sailor moon. I used to watch it as a kid. So I'm not sure how comics were priced compared to manga, but yeah, when I began collecting, they were pretty pricey, but that was way back when anime/manga were mostly underground and the amount of licensed manga was around 20 in number. xD
I still have a pretty small collection because my money is always split between manga, video games, and other things. And I don't make that much of it either. xD

You're right about the suspension of belief with Kirika being a 15 year old assassin. I guess since I also watched Noir first, Madlax reminded me of Mireille, who is supposed to be in her early 20s and sounds older than Kirika. I shouldn't be doing that I guess, but visually both look so similar: blond and well developed, that I couldn't help but think they were the same age. I do think that Madlax is suppose to be a teenager, but I'm not 100% sure. (I'm interpreting the plot here).

I know, the pricing is crazy. I'm glad manga prices went down and now most go for 10 dollars a volume. Too bad the quality also took a hit. Viz's old manga had nice paper and were bigger, but I guess it's a fair trade in the end. My only problem is sloppy translations. I wouldn't mind them charging Del Ray prices (12-14-ish) as long as they would make the localization just as good as Del Ray. (Sorry, I'm going off topic ^^;;;)

don't worry. I'm not innocent either :P
I never buy anime, it's way too costly. I used to buy manga before, but now I read scans as well. I only buy the series I really like now.

I watched Madlax subbed some time ago. I loved the music. Voices were ok. I don't recall any voices annoying me. I thought Madlax's voice was too 'young', but other than that, I found the VAs to be good. I don't know about the English ones, never watched it dubbed (I didn't even know there was a dub xD )

It was really good.

Yup, it's most likely me! I mainly use LJ to stay in touch with communities. I belong to a number of LJ communities, so more then likely you've seen my name float around, lol. Yup, I'm still a RO fan; even though I don't play anymore. =) May I add you as a friend?
