Just a guy that casually watches anime. Although my first exposure to anime was in 1998 with the original Dragon Ball, it wasn't until 2011 that I sought out to explore the medium.
Here is my anime rating criteria for those who are curious:
10: Virtually flawless. These define how high an anime can soar and would be my first recommendations to a person new to anime.
8-9: Great to amazing. I might have had minor critiques, but they were an afterthought when compared to the show's plethora of excellent qualities. Strongly recommended.
6-7: Pretty good. Although several issues popped up that detracted my viewing experience, it was still enjoyable overall. Recommended.
4-5: Meh to okay. There were some promising stuff here and there, but they were offset by an equal number of disappointing drawbacks. Would only recommend to those that are bored and want to kill time.
2-3: Consistently not enjoyable. Couldn't watch for a few minutes until I found another glaring flaw to add to my pile of issues about the show. Not recommended.
1: No redeeming qualities. Only those wanting to know how low an anime can fall should watch it. I've only given this score to one show and hopefully it stays that way.
To reiterate, an average anime gets a 5 from me instead of a 7 like many others give. If I gave an anime a 5 it doesn't mean it was bad, it means it was OK. On that note, a 7 from me means that the show was pretty damn good.
Thanks for stopping by!
