I got to wondering, what is masculinity and why are we so concerned about it? We are taught very early in life that anything not masculine is “less than.” We are programmed to think women are less-than, and that “real men” do this and “real men” do that. But what does all this really mean? Isn't masculinity subjective and fluid? I feel like this is especially prevalent in Anime.
