Don't intend to slam the game, but I associate the Tales series with generic stereotypes and rehashing including lots of unnecessary ballast that needs to get rid of. Xillia 2 was insipid for the most part and felt a bit like an add-on, rather than a full-fledged continuation. But that is just me. For me there exists often only just a small line between a hit or flop, so no offence. Though it does not alter the fact that I enjoy its battle system lots. Only surpassed by some games where tri-Ace is involved.
Haha, Citan is a lovely bastard. I dedicated my bio picture to him and that infamous soylent green incident where he played a major role.
The game has a lot of quirks but still remains one of the most remarkable experiences in my gaming history. Too bad its budget had to be cut due to time constraints involving FF8, which was one of the weakest Final Fantasy installments in my view. Nowadays I rarely play JRPGs for story reasons. My other favorites of this genre distinguish themselves by having great battle mechanics, yet lacking in most other departments which made XG great, heh.
