In the end I liked Parastye, but there were somethings that didn't click. Like the romance didn't feel as real as it should have. How the characters were handled was also an issue for me. Remember that girl with glasses? Yeah, I wonder what happen to that whole plot point about her father being a cop. As a whole it allot more right than wrong. The director clearly excels in creating fleshed out leading characters and juggling two contrasting tones. Unfortunately while the story was good, it never felt like it rising to anything special. Every felt the same as when it started. It wasn't something like Code Geass where I emotionally got more invested in the second half. It didn't have that extra push.

Honestly I think besides Parastye the only thing worth watching is Jojo Bizzare's Adventure Stardust Crusader. That's mostly because I read the manga and liked it allot. I have enough faith from the studio adapting it that they did it proper justice. This season was rather lame. I ended up finishing anime that were suggest to me instead checking out anything new. There's AssClsass, but once you get use to the setup there's no good humor to be found. Seriously, this season was lame.

If you like Aldnoah.Zero you might to check out the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Aldnoah.Zero borrows allot from that anime. Despite being made in the 70s the action scenes are something that never failed to get me hook.

IT"S ME! Can't believe it's been a month since I last responded. My friend list been growing quickly this year compare to last year it can get hectic at time keeping up with everyone. Once Parastye ends, feel free to share thoughts on it with me and hope you're doing well.

I see you put on Fairy Tail on hold. Although, with it being episode 72 I can't blame you. That was a pretty terrible arc with perhaps the worst usage of twists in the series. I mean seriously, using Jellal as twist three straight times in major arcs is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprise if the world was Jellal at this point. Also, that whole plot twist with Wendy guild never existing was intentionally hilarious and made it the biggest waste of time simultaneously. Not only was it incredibly cruel for the old to just reveal every single person in Wendy life was a lie, but also hilarious how dramatic it made it be even though it did nothing get the viewer sympathy for the characters. Also, that scene reveals that if the guild never asked for helped than Wendy would have never revived Jellal, the evil guild would have never found Nirvana, and none of the guild members would have gotten hurt. So yeah, that arc was a waste of time. Though, episode 73 - 75 were fun episodes than they were silly. I actually like Fairy Tail when it has standalone episodes because whenever it tries to tell a continuing story it simply falls back on its own formula making it boring to watch.

I barely started seeing Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis today. My impressions of it were that it was fun, but oh man that storytelling is a complete mess. I'm hoping it'll improve in later episodes.

So far I haven't been able to see anything that premiered this season. Either got held up in family matter like I did yesterday or either wanted to finish a couple other anime before starting any new ones. So far, I've heard good things about Assassination Classroom and Death Parade. I barely read or hear anything bad about them, but it's still too early to know if they'll be good all the way through since they're still airing. Try checking out one of the them if you want something new to see this season.

So, made any progress in Shinsekai Yori? I know it's not a easy anime to get into, but stick with it. Trust me, that final episode makes it all worth it.

Great to know you also liked it allot. Trigun has one of the best leading characters for an anime. He's funny, serious, and in depth when it comes to his believe. The more about him that was revealed the more it made sense he acted the way he did. I liked the track too, though not something I listen to repeatedly. Honestly when it comes to music I never know what I'll end up liking. Though I prefer rock music in general, I keep finding slow tracks in anime I end liking more than rock music sometime within the same show. I also liked the look of the world. How everything was barren and came across like a steampunk Western. Granted there wasn't much variety in the scenery, but that was part of the price for the setting of the story.

If you liked Trigun than you might also Berserk. Both shows are entirely different in execution, but both are somewhat similar in the way they explore their characters. In both, the more about the leading character is learned the more interesting the series becomes. Can't forget it has a great soundtrack, even if it does reuse music tracks frequently.

See you're also seeing Shinsekai Yori. I am too at the moment, but man it's a hard to show get into at first. It took the forth episode which was heavy on exposition to finally grab my attention and get me hooked. Same thing happened with Darker Than Black, but for that one it took 14 episodes before I was able to get into it. Trust me it gets better. Plus, it's an A-1 Picture anime. Regardless how they turn out there is always something to talk about. It's the way they are.

See that you're almost done with Trigun. Once you finish feel free share with you thought about it with me. It's better so that way I won't unintentionally spoil anything.

I hope you could enjoy those old anime. Once the holiday are over I'll get back to watching. Thank for the holiday greeting. Merry Christmas to you too.

For old ones I can only suggest three because I haven't that many old ones. Cowboy Bebop is a must see since it's has fantastic writing and great characters. Although for most than half of it run it doesn't have much of an overarching story until the last two episodes. In total there's like 5 or six episodes that tell the entire story. It's episodic and easy to get into.

Trigun is another I would recommend. Unlike Cowboy Bebop, Trigun is fully a space western and easily the king of anime Western. It has both comedy and action to go with a good story that touches on the theme of violence. Plus Vash is one of anime best leading characters. It's also done by Madhouse (they did Death Note) and it's one of their earlier anime.

There's also Berserk which also has fantastic writing and a overarching story. The pacing is the biggest drawback since it's deliberately slow, but the payoff is worth it. The characters cast is deep and the story is very powerful. It has the power of being able to immerse you into its story.

The oldest anime I've seen is Mobile Suit Gundam which I haven't finish. I'm surprised I like it a great deal because from a visual standpoint it looks dated, but the cheesy opening song charmed me allot and the story so far is interesting. I planning on going further into the past of anime, but right now step at time. Right now Christmas is consuming some time, but after that I should get back into my usual pace of anime watching.

I tend to rent my anime since it's easier on my pockets. If I can't rent there's two good site for me to stream from; Funimation and Crunchyroll. They don't have everything I want to see like the original Mobile Suit Gundam series (well Crunchyroll has a page, but no episodes last time I checked), but if it's something that recently air or from the 2000s they ten to have it. If I can't from them there's still Hulu and Netflix as my last resorts since I notice they edits some anime they stream. The times I would consider buying a anime is if I review it since what you see on DVD is likely to be the same for everyone compare if you see it online where the site could have edit something.

Any anime you're planning to see next year? For me it's the second season of Tokyo Ghoul and the remainder of Fate Stay Night Unlimited Bladework. There's also Durararax2 that I look forward too since I like the first season. Parastye I'm forward to finishing since everything it has done has been executed to great effect. I like Madhouse (and soft spot for them making my favorite anime Death Note).

Everything else I'm not sure about. I tend to pick more anime I see on whim than ones that actually interest me. For example I saw Noragami because I had nothing to see that season. I ended up liking it allot despite the first episode not grabbing my attention. I saw Akame Ga Kill because at that point I recently finished Kill La Kill which I love so decided to see it because Kill was in the title.

Akame Ga Kill I can talk for hours about, but that won't be necessary since it'll be like a dozen or so paragraphs of complaint. Out of all the characters death the only one I felt got a good sendoff was Mine. The rest I couldn't care less about including Chelsea which I wonder why her head phones were left on her decapitated head.

How's Fairy Tail holding up for you? For me the formula of the arcs get very repetitive and Lucy so far (I'm still episode 70) hasn't been all that useful so far. I like the music at least and Erza, though the further the anime goes on the more it seems to focus on fan service over attempting to tell a good story.

So what did you think of Akame Ga Kill ending?

I wasn't really into the anime at that point, but the ending at least tied up all loose ends. I still felt it was sloppy in execution in some area like Leone getting killed. They just needed to squeeze in one more death and how quickly everyone celebrated the next day after literally an entire kingdom was almost destroyed. What I got from the ending was pretty much there's no guarantee that they'll be a another season. So it brought some closure. I doubt White Fox will another more faithful adaptation of the manga like Bones did in the future.

See you're planning on seeing Devil May Cry. Are you a fan of the video games too?

I've only played Devil May Cry 4, but I liked it. Although the story in that game was as absurd as its cutscenes. It was a fun game with some awesome boss fights.

Saw you finished the other Evangelion movies. How were they compare to the first one. Since I saw the anime I was able to follow it, but my little brother who never seen the anime was completely confused haha. I like the added details of the movies, but didn't find it as impressive as the original. Could be because in the original it was all hand drawn and the movie used 3D for the EVA? Although, the sound track still remains awesome.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
