Dark Myth was a masterpiece. It opened my third eye.

Man, YES. Da nao tian gong is at the top of my list because I firmly believe it deserved this. After watching a few Japanese and Chinese animations from this same era, I eventually came upon this film and man, I really could not believe that such a precious gem was so hidden. China had just gone through the second Sino-Japanese war and with this animation, considered by the Chinese themselves and others to be the greatest work made in the golden age of Chinese animation, China was demonstrating a power that competed with or surpassed Japan at the time. Were it not for the cultural revolution that occurred after this film and set back the Chinese animation scene, I think China would be one of the greatest powers in animation today. This film also carries Te Wei's (Shanshui Qing's creator) thought of exalting the national culture, and presented some of the most sensitive art I have ever seen. I feel that this film is the greatest testament to the dedication and greatness of those Chinese animators.

Shanshui qing was created after Te Wei was tortured for many years in exile during the cultural revolution. And he returned to making art as beautiful as he had always done. I really love these works

Oh, thanks for the nostalgia trip! It's nice to see someone else who likes these old-school experimental shorts. Yeah, you can definitely find some great anime searching by your favorite directors, animators, voice actors, mangakas, etc.

En même temps j’me sens béni de pouvoir apprécier les Deleuzes/Foucault/Godard/Chris Marker, etc. de ce monde en version original. Je te comprends pour le plaisir d’avoir le médium en physique, j’ai un ami qui fait des plaques de bois et je veux m’en faire une « Café Alpha ». Et ce n’est pas un hazard, YKK a deux compositeurs dépendant de l’OVA, Choro Club qui a fait celle d’Aria, et Gontiti qui a fait celle d’Amanchu. Les japonais aiment s’inspirer de musique du monde, les soundtracks de Ristorante Paradiso et Yuru Camp sont dans le même style.
