I would have to disagree on best anime this season to be honest. There are many anime that better by far. For example, my favourite this season, Owarimonogatari. There's also: OPM, K: Return of Kings (which is brilliant in OST and artwork, but sub-par plot), and Noragami Aragato. I dislike overly ecchi anime and 'colourful magic' isn't really my thing either.

Wow. Was not expecting a whole essay about some arbitrary recommendation. I haven't read either story. I made the judgment based solely off of the first 3 episodes of the anime. I felt that they were extremely similar due to character and plot. The main female characters are both princesses with pink hair and are high ranked in skill in their school. The male protagonists are both overpowered generic characters that are looked down upon by others.

Honestly, I don't find either of them interesting. They both fill the role of generic "magic sword fighting competition high school" anime of the season. I just didn't expect 2 of these types of anime to air in the same season.
