you should for sure. i still have a few left to see myself but it's a catalog worth working through, their 80s and 90s films especially.

Heeey it's Mimi from AL. :D What a great list of OPs & EDs! It's been a long time since I've heard some of these. <3 I can't believe I forgot Sakamichi no Apollon and Shinsekai Yori tho! -adds to list-. As for the ones I'm not familiar with, they're mostly from Naruto and Bleach, as well as Kekkai Sensen and One Piece, but I enjoyed listening to/watching them. ^^ Even though our tastes are a bit different, I still like to check out different style OPs/EDs, kinda like chillin' out to AMVs all day long. xD

Thank you, it's somewhat of a personal rule. I also love your profile pic and that list of OPs/EDs :)

You have a great list of OPs and EDs. Ohayou and Minna no Peace are so good

Yeah it keeps inflating, I dunno how :P

Sahara was a cool character as well. I haven't watched any of the trailers for it yet, so I might check them out.

Also I've started the Planetes manga. The anime was pretty good, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Your PTW list is still the most daunting thing ever. :P

>Yuzuru, she was usually the highlight of any panel she appeared in. What about you?

Oh sweet, another new pick! I absolutely loved Sahara, both her personality and the personal fight she was fighting. Good stuff.

I enjoyed Hyouka, which I initially thought might be a bit dull, based on descriptions of it. Oreki was just so precious hahahaha. I haven't seen Hibike Euphonium, but I'm kind of doing a funny alphabetical run-through of my PTW list so I should get around to it soon (I'm on 'E' haha).

Oh awesome, 150 doesn't sound too bad.

Yuzuru, she was usually the highlight of any panel she appeared in. What about you?

Finished Koe no Katachi, very good stuff! Pretty bold of the mangaka to end it where she did, I quite like finales that don't spell out everything though. All the overt narrative hurdles were cleared, so all was well.

Looking forward to the movie! I'm a bit so-so about much of KyoAni's work (mostly in terms of entertainment value, which is just my taste I suppose; the technical quality of their works is usually fantastic), but it's definitely strong source material.

I wonder what the duration will be? I hope they opt for a longer time to get in some of the side aspects of the story, because some of those side character interactions are absolute gold. Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya was pretty long, so at least there's KyoAni precedent to have a film run as long as necessary to get everything important on screen ahaha.

The movie covers only the first 2 volumes (out of 7), and cuts out much of the over-arching plot from the manga so that it can conclude within 2 hours or so. It's still a good movie, I think, especially if you like Miyazaki's style.
Whom_Are_You Sep 6, 2016 5:48 AM
At least the production staff are openly talking about it! So often all one hears out of Japan is unverifiable rumour (the Attack on Titan ones are a serial offender here, I'm glad it's finally been green-lit).

Aoi should have been in Tokyo Drift with those insane oversteers hahaha. My favourite character was Midori, the friend in college who did all the researching (I can empathise with her). What probably pushed the show into my favourites was how the scene in not-Anno's apartment had couches the colours of Evas 01 and 02. I got a good giggle out of that.

Oh also I did read and finish the Nausicaa manga, it was pretty good. I don't see the movie on your list but the manga is by far the more complete version, if you'd be interested in checking it out. It's basically a post-apocalyptic sci-fi adventure; it's got a lot of the good old Miyazaki trademarks and themes as well.

It's shaping up pretty well so far!

Yeah I have a few mates and people at uni pestering me with recommendations for everything; I'll definitely let you know if I run into anything worth a look.

Ahah I know the feeling, I started gaming again after about a year of not playing much but kinda wanting to. It's been fun, though assessments are picking up again so juggling everything is getting difficult (and getting enough sleep after it all).

Shirobako was fantastic. It managed to pull off both a sincere and slightly absurd approach to the subject matter at the same time, which I really appreciated. I saw a few light criticisms of it before I started about how it just throws the audience in the deep end at the beginning with all the characters and technical industry terms and general hecticness, but I think that was effective because it got me invested and paying attention straight away. I hear PA had more content planned for it, hopefully they can get that in the pipeline and keep the quality up.

Hey, how's it going?

I started Koe no Katachi! I read the one-shot and smashed out a few chapters today, it's some pretty heavy stuff early on ahaha. I can definitely see why you're hyped for the movie.
j0netzky Aug 11, 2016 11:08 AM
Njoo. Melkosta kyytiä olikin! Bingasin 120 jaksoa kolmen viikon aikana, harmi vaan että jouduin lähtee kuukaudeksi vaihtoon ennen ku sain katottua loppuun = P
Whom_Are_You Aug 5, 2016 8:28 PM
Oh, thanks! I've heard a bit about this one, a lot of people are pretty hype for it, yeah. I'll let you know if I decide to read it or wait for the movie!
Whom_Are_You Aug 5, 2016 10:47 AM
Yeah we have really similar ratings, pretty much everything is within that margin!

I'm just reading Attack on Titan at the moment but I think I'll do some light research into which other manga are good reads.
