Hello and Merry Christmas.
It's all good, as you can probably tell, I have been on a bit of a hiatus myself.
I have been working very long hours and on weekends I have either been training or wrestling so I haven't been very motivated to go online until recently.
As for anime, I have only been watching sporadically but I have Caught up on Tokyo Ghoul Re and the english dub of Dragon Ball Super, plus I have recently watched the first 30 or so episodes of Your Under Arrest and the first season of Double Decker.
I am halfway through Bunny Girl Senpai, Rerided and That Time I Became a Slime.
I hope that your exams went well, have you been enjoying your free time?
Watching anything good lately?

Sorry about my tardiness with replies, I have been so lazy in my free time lately.
It's good that you can balance both work and study, allows you to get a bit of an income at the same time instead of being flat broke all the time like a lot of students.

I always feel like people are watching to see how I am acting and that makes me feel even more insecure about social situations, I know that everyone has more important things to worry about than what I am doing with my hands or the way I word things but it still plays on my mind.
It is getting better though so I am hoping the trajectory continues upward from here.

I am more inclined to put an anime aside and come back to it later than I used to be but putting them down entirely is something I am still unable to do.
I would still like to check out some more Conan in the future but I don't know when that will be, One Piece is another one that I am hesitant to start watching because of the length although I would probably enjoy it.
As for Gintama, I find some of it funny but there are other times I find parts of it a bit boring, I also have trouble getting invested in an anime where the episodes have there own self contained stories rather than a story that is spread out over the course of the whole anine, or at least multiple episodes.
It's odd because it doesn't bother me in live action shows for some reason.
I do plan to keep going with it over time but it will be here and there rather than in long bursts, Mushishi is the same due to it's self contained stories rather than long story arcs.

Yeah, I would kill for the arcade scene over here to have continued the way it has in Japan, I went to arcades from time to time when I was young but I was mainly stuck with consoles myself.

The basic story of Westworld is about a theme park in the future where all of the people there are robots so you can do whatever you want to them in order to play out your fantasy, and then hi-jinks ensue.
The show is based on a movie from the 80s which I also like although the sequel is forgettable, If you want a rough idea what the show is like, watch that.
Have you seen the episode of the Simpsons about Itchy and Scratchy land?
The movie is similar to that although the show makes some changes and has genuinely great writing and characters.

Yeah, lots of me time, for better or worse.
What kind of work do you do from home?

There is a group of NPCs trying to wage war on the adventurers, and some of the adventurers are also siding with the NPCs, I think with the goal of going back to the real world.

From what I hear, it has a manga.
I really like shows that deal with a certain profession, like running a theme park, making games or writing manga, even if they are ficyional, they often contain enough things from the real world to be informative in some way.

It can be easy to fall into the habit of not interacting with people you don't have to, online shopping makes it even easier to close yourself off from the outside world, I have never had great social skills but I used to be oblivious to that fact so I didn't mind interacting with other people but these days it is so much more daunting for me, hanging out with the guys I wrestle with has really helped me, especially recently.
I can see it not being something I would have been into if it was one of the first anime I watched when I started getting into it last year.

The last two seasons there have been lots of things that sounded interesting to me, I haven't gotten around to all of them yt though as I am waiting for some of them to finish before I start them.
I am a bit of an animasochist so I have to finish any anime that I start watching, although I do stop watching some less interesting series' for long periods of time like Beelzebub or Gintama, but there is one anime that I technically dropped but as I only watched one episode and may still come back to it at a later date, it was Conan, the 800+ episode series about the child detective, the first episode turned me off a bit due to the ridiculous way he solved the case.

I have a few episodes built up of Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi that I will probably watch over the next few days.
I haven't watched any anime in the last few days except for the latest episode of High Score Girl last night, I watched the second season of Westworld the other day, I love that show, have you seen any of it?

I enjoy the work, although I don't really like the atmosphere, I pretty much work in silence because the old guy doesn't talk much and is usually in a bad mood, he also doesn't listen to the radio because it distracts him when he is trying to work things out so I have to keep myself company. Haha

I think the movie will contain a separate story rather than just be a recap, at least that is the impression that I got when I read about it.

Yeah, I thought that it would be better to wait for at least another season to be released before diving in, there was talk that the author was plagiarizing the artwork of another manga and that the anime was cancelled but I think it is safe to say that the movies disproves that theory, well at least I hope anyway.

LH was definitely building to something good, I hope it doesn't take too long before they do another series, I am wondering which side the girl from his previous group, the one who is currently on the Chinese server, is going to be on, as well as some of the other characters who have been left somewhat ambiguous as to where their allegiances lie.

Amagi was pretty funny, I like the mascot characters, namely the pervy one and the main one. (the names are eluding me at the moment)
I am planning to read the manga at some point because I think that there is a lot more that never got adapted.

I really related to some of the things in NHK, for a few years I was what the Japanese would call a NEET who only left the house when it was absolutely necessary, breaking through the social anxiety and getting back out there was something that I really struggled with for a long time
and I am still not great at interacting with other people.

Definitely let me know what you think if you do decide to watch High School Girl, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi and Boku no Hero season 3 are the only two that I am watching at the moment but there are a bunch of series that are airing that are on my plan to watch list, Satsuriku no Tenshi and Banana Fish are among them but there is also Back Street Girls: Gokudolls, Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro, Dragon Ball Heroes, Happy Sugar Life, Hataraku Saibou (TV), Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu, Jashin-chan Dropkick, Joshiochi!: 2-kai kara Onnanoko ga... Futtekita!?, Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes, Lord of Vermilion: Guren no Ou, Overlord III, Persona 5 the Animation, Shichisei no Subaru, Shingeki no Kyojin Season 3, Steins;Gate 0, Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger and Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san.
So much anime, so little time. Haha

What do you think of Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi?
I like it so far, it reminds me a little of Spirited away.
theshanesaw Jul 24, 2018 5:43 PM
I am a baker at a small bakery owned by an older couple, so aside from a few shop girls who I don't really get the chance to talk to, it is just me and the couple who runs it working.

At least you get to break up the monotony and keep things fresh, and that you are able to have a bit of a sleep in so you don't have to go to bed the instant you get home on those later nights.

Megumin, that's her, I am terrible at remembering character names.
From what I read, there is a Konosuba movie in the works at the moment so it may still be a little while off but I am certainly happy about the movie.
I have heard really good things about No Game No Life but I have been reluctant to watch it because it has still yet to get a second season and it was aired a few years ago, so I have been waiting to hear about new episodes before diving in.
I don't play MMOs as I am sure I would have mentioned but I really liked that Log Horizon incorporated so many things from real MMOs into the story, such as the user interface, the spawn rate, the NPCs, the raid dungeons and the guilds, as well as a lot of other creative and interesting things like the way food only tastes good if you cook it the old fashioned way and the way that the world is slowly becoming blended with the way the real world works.
I was disappointed to hear that it didn't receive a third season but I read that the creator was charged with tax evasion and put the novels on hold, but there was a new one released earlier this year after a 3 year hiatus so hopefully that combined with the popularity of the previous seasons will give them enough reason to to a new season.

Re:ZERO was one of my favourite anime in recent memory and like you, I loved the save mechanic but also the characters, there is a new OVA coming out fairly soon, so hopefully they will do a second season of the show.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for more SS but hopefully they will adapt the rest, it was a pretty good show.
As for Moyashimon, it started out good enough but it seemed to go on with no real development and the things that did progress just weren't all that interesting, pity because I liked the first season.

I don't mind random humor but most of the sketch comedy was miss rather than hit for me, although the odd wrestling reference got a pop from me, plus I hated the little professor girl, she aggravated the hell out of me, I can certainly see why people might like the show but I really had to struggle to get through it.

I am really glad that it is 2 cours, 1 just isn't enough to tide me over for a year, I'm really hoping that the popularity remains so that they will have no reason not to adapt the series as long as it runs.

In the last few days I watched Kokoro Connect, Amagi Brilliant Park and Welcome to the N.H.K., all of which I would give a solid 8 rating for different reasons plus I started watching High Score Girl which is both a love letter to retro games and a little bit of a marketing tool for game companies selling retro games, such as Capcom with their upcoming Street Fighter Collection.
It uses real game footage and names as opposed to just animating something that makes you think of real games, so far it is really good.
If you have any interest in retro games from the 80s and 90s, I would definitely recommend checking it out.
Have you watched anything recently?
theshanesaw Jul 21, 2018 2:00 AM
Thanks, I am hoping that some of the things that I have been working on in training are well received.
I know what you mean about being an introvert, I find it very hard to initiate a conversation with someone that I haven't known for ages, plus the place that I am working and the hours that I work make it hard to meet new people, places that I have worked in the past have at least had lots of people to engage with but the place I'm at now, I only really get to talk to the owners, so I have had to try and seek folks elsewhere.
When you have time off it is so easy to just want to relax at home and keep the activity to a minimum, I have the same problem when I am off from work.

Too much pondering is one of the reasons that I want to start interacting with more people, when I have nothing to do, I think about things too much.
Jeez, classes until 8pm, that's insane, I didn't even know that uni opened that late, are they new subjects or just the same subjects at different times from last term?
Good luck with it all, hopefully you settle into it fairly quickly.

I enjoyed Konosuba quite a bit actually, I agree that the characters are all very funny, I especially like the girl who is obsessed with explosion magic, she is probably my favourite character, although I like how the main character is basically the straight man to all of the other wacky characters.
It was a part of a binge that I went on recently of shows about people transported to game worlds like Re:ZERO, Log Horizon and Overlord.
I am going to read the manga for Silver Spoon at some point because it seems unlikely that it is going to get a third season so there is a fair bit left un-adapted and I liked the anime.
That show got me to watch another series called Moyashimon because it also takes place in an agricultural school, unfortunately despite having a few interesting elements, I didn't find it to be very good.

Flip Flappers and Zetsuen no Tempest are both on my to watch list, Nichijou was one that I didn't really enjoy, but I notice that it has a fairly big fanbase so it must have done something that people like.
I am also watching BNHA as it airs, I love that series.

Howdy, I have been really good recently, thanks for asking.
I have started training each fortnight in Sydney again and I have 3 shows coming up in the next month and a half, so my weekends will be pretty busy for a while, I am also looking at getting booked on some shows from other promotions in the near future which I am pretty exited about.
I have also been trying to find new ways to be social and get out there and meet some new people after a long time of not really doing all that much, but it is hard to know where to start.
Other than that I am happy and healthy so I can't really ask for much more.
How about you, how have you been lately?

As for what I have been watching, since I chatted to you last I have watched Re:ZERO, both seasons of Kono Subarashii, both seasons of Overlord, both seasons of Log Horizon, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, FLCL, both seasons of Blue Exorcist, Little Witch Academia, , both seasons of Silver Spoon, both seasons of Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!, and I finished watching Clannad After Story, Love is Hard for Otaku and the latest season of Food Wars and the latest season of High School DxD.

Those are the standout ones anyway, there others that didn’t leave much of an impression but they obviously weren’t all that memorable.
How about yourself, have you been watching much lately?

That's cool, anytime you can meet like minded people is a good thing, I only really know one guy who is also into anime.

Yeah, I would certainly recommend it if you were a fan of the other two, while number 1 is my favourite, it definitely ranks up there with them.

Up until recently it was never really high on my priority list but is something I would definitely like to do in the next year, I just wish I knew someone who would also like to travel, being by myself could make me a bit anxious.

Yeah, the Melbourne one, it was pretty good, they have a bunch of booths set up by different stores and companies where you can buy things and try things out.
Nintendo had a booth there this year which was pretty cool, they held some gaming tournaments there and there was a VR booth where you could try that out.
There are also actors and voice actors there who you can get photos with and autographs from, as well as comic book creators and authors who you can meet, plus they have cosplay competitions so there are a lot of cool costumes to see.
If you like any of that kind of stuff I would recommend checking it out, although it is quite pricey.
I was there all day Saturday and Sunday as they have wrestling at the convention but as I was wrestling so much I barely got time to walk around and look at things.

Anything Dragon Ball related is still pretty popular so I would be shocked if it didn't, I will be first in line for tickets when it does.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
