Yeah, I had a hard time attaching to Gintama as well and dropped it the very first time I watched it but eventually I tried it again months later and fell in love with it. I think it has something to do with mood or something, because I dropped Psycho-Pass that I just recently picked back up and enjoying it.. not sure what I hated so much about it the first go around.
The main thing you have to let go about Gintama is the fact that it's not only spoofing other Animes, but then entire Japanese culture and language itself. So there are definitely times where I don't understand what they're talking about but just have to go along with it haha. And have to at least watch to the point of making it to one of the actual serious arcs
I do in fact get paid to promote Gintama on here.. not really but I would definitely do it. But it's just crazy how many people don't watch it.. if you look at the top lists it takes up 4 spots for a reason, although those lists suck because people attack shows they don't like with 0s which screws it up.
You have Sugita, Tomokazu as your only favorite person.. you'd love Gintama. Haha, it's really the only any out there that has any and everything.. but will never be dubbed for Americans to watch
