Why are these things always a pain to complete? Don’t they realize that not everyone enjoys talking about themselves?

I’m a slowly emerging Otaku. I say slowly emerging simply because I’ve been in the closet on it almost my entire life and only in the last year or two have I started being more open about it. Is it bad that I can remember rushing home from kindergarten to watch the next episode of Speed Racer? I still want to have a car like the Mach 5! Perhaps an early indication of my love of anime was waking up at 5:30am in the morning to catch Star Blazers (Americanized version of the Yamamoto series) on television (sorry pre-cable days).

I have no real preference when it comes to anime and will watch just about anything. I do prefer however that the anime, or manga as the case may be, have a good story line to it. Anime that’s ecchi, hentai and over the top fan service doesn’t really bother me, though I can also do without it. Again, if the story line is great I can care less what type of anime it is. I’m always open for trying something new so if you know of anything that looks good let me know. Most of what I have rated, especially those with a higher rating, I have purchased outright. I have a nice growing collection of anime and manga which I’m always looking to add to!
