The story both focus on the relationship between the protagonist and her older brother's wife. The difference are: Ani no Yome to Kurashiteimasu: the protagonist's older brother has been passed away. / the protagonist doesn't sure about her feeling to her sister-in -law. In both manga, we have an older female taking care of an younger girl. In haru to Midori, The women takes in the daughter of her best friend after her death while in Ani no yome, the Women takes in little sister of her husband. In these manga we can see everyday lives of these two women, overcoming the awkwardness between them and trying to take care of one another

Manga: Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan
Similarly to Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan, Ani no Yome to Kurashiteimasu gives off the homey warm feel and they both deal with the lifestyle changes as a new member is added to their family. Though, Ani no Yome to Kurashiteimasu relates less with food but instead addresses the emotional aspects of losing loved ones while not being over somberly. Throughout, the manga Ani no Yome to Kurashiteimasu keeps a light and fluffy feel.
