SynopsisHina's new high school is strange to say the least. She moves back to her old home town only to find that the high school is run by two opposing factors, and students identify themselves based on the color of their school uniforms: Black for the followers of the loud, violent Nishizaki, and white for the followers of quiet, clean-freak Isshiki. And then there are the "grays," who wear street clothes. Hina finds herself stuck between the leaders of the two factions, and it seems to be turning violent.
As one might guess from the girly art and the Ribon publisher, the plot develops a romance element pretty early on in the series. There's a love triangle involved among two of the group leaders. Who will Hina choose? (Source: MangaDownloads) |

I give this a 10 straight across, it has finally given me a title I can call my favorite Shoujo manga. And I love Shoujo in all its girlishness.
STORY:
FYI FYI FYI!!!!
The desciption on here says there is a love SQUARE when in reality there is NO evidence at all that Nishizaki liked Hina at all. NONE. ZERO. There is a very HUGE love triangle, but thats about it. No Love square. Just wanted to get that out there.

The story was very original! Ive read a LOT(No seriously, I own over 200 shoujo manga...) of shoujo manga and this is the first time Ive read something like this. There was just enough drama and romance. Just be prepared for it to turn a tad bit dark near the end, including some violence. There is violence with Nishizaki hitting girls, but it doesnt get too bad. The story line got me to read this all in one night. I couldnt put it down! The only thing I didnt like was the ending. It feels like there should be a lot more too it...
ART:
I find the art to be the typical Shoujo-Manga-Art, which I love! The expressions and movements where drawn so well, there wasnt any awkwardness either. Even the outfits were amazing. :D
CHARACTERS:
My favorite things about this manga were the character development. Especially how much Nishizaki changes. It shows you how much influence one rebellious girl came give!
ENJOYMENT:
Like I said before, I read this all in one sitting, and reviewed it RIGHT after I finished it. The story line kept me wanting more, so I even skipped sleeping to read it! If you like Shoujo, Drama and Romance Read this. You wont regret a thing!

i just finished this manga, and i am writing my first review and i'm sorry for my bad english...
its a story about a girl that struggle with the environment difficulties,in order to stay in her new school.and from here the story is developing.
the art was nice, and i liked the fact that the girl is not acting too much cute, like most of the main character in shoujo manga.
even though the story wasn't completely original, there were some parts[especially in the middle and towards the end] that totally fascinated me and i was curious how the story will progress.
the end might disappoint you, because the end is not exactly tipical shoujo ending, and just gives hint for what might happen.
overall i enjoyed the manga, and i will recommend this for people that want to see more plot than just lovey dovey.
i hope that will help..<3 read more

They both have to do with a whole school being against a girl that doest want to just go with what everyone else is doing
Both mangas revolve around incidents which occur in a school the main character attends. Both main characters have to deal with being singled out by fellow pupils for, basically, standing up for what they believe in. There are quite a few 'plot twists' in Hana Yori Dango and Penguin Brothers which are similar. Both mangas involve some form of love triangle.

The situation of the girls are simular. They both are strong and know how to fight. They also want to protect thier friends. I know that if you liked one you will like the other
