Protagonists are adult men who get isekai'd to a different world, where their actions and strategies they use make them look like evil psychopats althrough inside they are complaining about having to bother with it in the first place and just view it as a necesary way to survive. 

1) Both main character die and are reincarnated in another world 2) Both stories are set in a fantasy world 3) Both stories have military theme 4) Both main character are genious in the magic 5) Both main character are cold and calculator 6) In both worlds exist a mix between magic and technology 

although this not a scfi space adventure like star wars its action and military appeal will definitely satisfy any who liked this manga but the art style and action is on par and the story makes you sympathize and like you live in the same world. 

Historically accurate depiction of world war 2, but the format and stroy telling isnt even close to eachother. 

Ruthless military tactics, inspiration by history but not set in our timeline and all of this centered around a young girl. 

Petite girl with cruel side and powerful destructive output joins an army and commits questionable acts. Both of their bodies hide some unnatural secrets - one is actually a soul of middle aged man and one ate death. 

Warfare, strategy, philosophy and politics are combined in these novel series, with a nicely flowing writing style that features intelligent characters and engaging, meaningful monologues and dialogues. 

On both of these works, there is a strong presence of ideologies, and the characters act in a way to show this. In Youjo Senki it's utilitarianism, in Das Kapital it's Communism. 

Both put a high focus on the militaristic strategies and the "art of war" (literally, in case of Sonshi no Heihou which is in fact adaptation of *the* Art of War). Both will likely be enjoyed by military fans. 

Both Protagonists are antiheroes and have sociopathic traits, such as being extremely calculating & manipulative, as well as having little regard for others unless they are useful to them. Both Stories are isekais, although with differing settings (pure fantasy vs military&history fantasy). Both Protagonists seek to rise in the ranks and have an easy life. Another difference is that the protagonist of youjo senki is fairly overpowered, while the protagonist of Returner is quite weak, and mostly succeeds using manipulation, deception and lies (Though all his recruited allies are overpowered in their specialty).
