I get the same feeling from both manga's, people ending up with "powers", and they have to fight each other to claim a title or a gift, art style's remind me of each other, though, they're different, characters are equal on several grounds.

These titles are so incredibly similar. The protagonist is partnered with a childish sidekick, for supernatural reasons they become bonded and find friends / fight evil / fight other similar super-powered duos. The sidekick is also apparently the heir to the throne of the kingdom/world he's from. In both manga, even their powers are similar - lightning. That's not to say these series are bad; in fact, quite the opposite. They just approach the story from slightly different angles. Anyway, they're so similar that if you liked one, you'll probably like the other.

Both are involved with tournament-survival game, where book owners (Gash Bell)/diary's owners (Mirai Nikki) will have to destroy each other book/diary. The winner, which is the last one standing will became king (Gash Bell)/god (Mirai Nikki). Mirai Nikki is darker than Gash Bell in many prospects including destroying diary will lead to death of the owner, thus owners mostly wouldn't care less to kill each other directly instead of destroying diary. While in Gash Bell, the demon of the book will return to demon world after destroying the book.

Both main characters have a partner that they fight alongside with, and must defeat others who are in a similar situation so that they can become the strongest.

These two good works have these points in common: -People fighting against each other -Weird creatures, in JoJo they have the spirits called stands, in Zatchbell the demons called mamodos -Each fighter have their own hability -Long duration, centered in the main characters, but with enough time for the secondary enemies and allies -Both main characters have in common an absent dad, and a strong will of fighting -The fights are tough, and no one wins one without effort -They fight for some good purposes

may not have a similar plot, but both manga features a co-op team aiming for the same goal. gash is a child demon from the demon world sent to the human world to have duels with each other to become the king of their world. almost like a darker pokemon.

Servamp is similar in that they are both friendship heavy shows where pears of partners fight and team up in a supernatural setting. It really has a similar deal to zatch bell

Both series follow non-human (but mostly humanoid) fighters who take part in a competition for the kingship of their world. In both series, the king candidates pair with humans and fight against other pairs to win the title (though this is not mandatory in Moriking). Comedy is a big aspect in both series, though Moriking tends to be more a comedy-centered series than the more battle-heavy Zatch Bell.

Main characters are clumsy naive little boys, that are thought of as weak. They are lonely, don't have many friends. The two want to become King and use the title for good. They also both have a nasty brother, who is stronger.

Both works perfectly apply the modern shounen teachings, especially with the friendship theme and the diverse casts and creative powers. Kongou Banchou is also a fine homage to classic 80's shounen, which only gives you more reasons to read it if you like battle shounen in general. READ IT NOW!

Battle themed manga where "demons" form relationships with humans. The main characters, Zatch and Luchiru have similar pasts in that they were treated poorly by their peers but learn to grow up in spite of that.

You saw this coming, didn't you? But it's pretty obvious, both series deal with boys who get this mysterious doll out of nowhere with a good plot behind it, they get into fights, find the cause and fight some more. Although the characters in Gash "grow up" faster then the one's in Hyde and Closer, the characters are pretty much the same, so are the battle's and plots.

Both are to do with the main character wanting to be a king and also having to fight will a variety of people with different skills along the way. They have a similar feel to them, even though they are two completely different worlds.

Both stories revolve around normal people drawn into a magical conflict where they fight alongside their partners (demons in Gash Bell and animal spirits in Wakusei no Samidare) to defeat their opponents (other demons in Gash Bell and the Mage's golems in Wakusei no Samidare). Both are action-packed and full of humor. If you enjoyed either series, you will certainly enjoy the other as well.

Both series involve a battle between people who fight with beings that gain power from a book.

Apart from the difference between "powers" (O-Parts and "Demons") these series are pretty similar, certain characters are almost the same and deal with the same struggles through their misadventures to save the world, one way or the other. The development of the story's going pretty much the same level, tho', Gash can deliver you more and better fights then 666 can.
