Kageno datte Seishun Shitai and Hiyokoi are both about a shy, short girl with no friends trying to make friends in high school. In school, the first person that opens up to the FL is the outgoing, popular, good looking ML. The FL first sees the ML as a source of inspiration on how to make friends but this admiration slowly turns into love.

Both MCs may not be considered good looking and can be awkward at times. The male lead is famous and the MCs caught their interest. This is a general recommendation tbh. You don't even have to have read Kageno. I think Skip to Loafer is a gem any shoujo fan should experience.

Both feature small female protagonists who are self-conscious of their height and unpopularity as they fall in love and change because of the popular male love interests.

Both are shoujo mangas about the relationship of a popular guy and the unpopular high school girl with clear self-esteem issues. KdSS is heavier on the comedy side while BnO has a lot more introspection. KdSS is the story told from the girl's side while in BnO the narrator is the guy, this makes KdSS male MC a comically perfect guy while in BnO the male MC has real flaws. If you like KdSS and are looking for something slightly more serious go with BnO. If you like BnO and you're looking for something a bit more lighthearted, go with KdSS.
