Both novels are written by the same author and both of the stories revolve around automated robots with self consciousness. The major difference will be that while humans are involved in most of the plots in Ame no Hi no Iris, they literally do not play any role in Koori no Kuni no Amaryllis. Q: Anymore similarities between these two novels? A: Both of them are masterpiece. Period.

The premises are nearly identical. Although that's not where the similarities end, since both also have somewhat similar all-encompassing themes, Violent Evergarden has a more dark, whimsical tone.

HakoMari and Ame no Hi no Iris are both dark, dramatic and gripping tales with well-crafted and engaging atmospheres. In spite of this, they are both ultimately forward-looking, though HakoMari is far sweeter (and perhaps even naive) in some sections than Ame no Hi no Iris. They're both one-shots too, so they don't require much investment. Similarly, both one-shots have fluid writing with a lot of soul to them (at least in the translations). While reading Ame no Hi no Iris, I couldn't help but think that it had a similar 'feel' to Gekkou, though it's undoubtedly an improvement in terms of atmosphere. They're both worth a shot; standouts  read more
