Both main characters are salarymen types (although Sachiko is a woman). Kodoku no Gourmet showcases real restaurants where the main character eats lunch on business trips whereas Boukyaku no Sachiko has more of a plot and showcases local specialties that help her forget her worries.

Meshinuma follows in the footsteps of Kodoku no Gourmet, with a salaryman who loves food enthusiastically eating. However, KnG shows off real restaurants while Meshinuma highlights more the charm of ubiquitous dishes like katsu curry or donuts.

Furin Shokudou is the ecchi descendant of Kodoku no Gourmet. Let me be clear, if you are reading Furin Shokudou and are tired of the protagonist's adultery and just want more good food content, get thee to Kodoku no Gourmet.

Both are about characters that like to go to restaurants alone to eat. The places they go are famous restaurants and the dishes described are real foods you can order.

The vibe of a man wandering down streets by himself and having encounters with food or memories is the same.

Both are about visiting restaurants and the characters love to eat. The places visited in these manga are real places.

In many ways the themes of these two series are opposites. Kodoku no Gourmet is all about the solitary pleasure of eating by oneself, whereas Shinya Shokudou is about how food can connect people and tell their stories. Both are food manga you will enjoy, though.

Both series are about single male characters which wander around or travel on trains to eat real dishes. Ekiben Hitoritabi is mostly focused on ekiben, bento you buy at a train station or on a train.
