Both of these mangas are simply heart-warming and although tear jerking at times definitely worth the read. They both have the theme of: Anyone can find love no matter the obstacles involved. If you loved one you will definitely love the other!

May 19, 20085 of ? chapters read 9 of 10 people found this review helpful As a three chapter story, 7th Period is a Secret is obviously very short and intended for just a quick read. It portrays a common struggle of fitting in that many teenagers face in today's society, and teaches a little lesson while it's at it as well. 7th Period is a short and sweet manga that doesn't delve too deep, but gives enough of a story to satisfy.
Story: 6
The story is very slice of life, and the inner struggles and actions of the main ...character, Shun, to fit in is something that many people would easily go through in their real life growing up. As she struggles to fit in, she distances herself in the process, defeating the entire purpose of having everyone like her; this is how the story begins. As she begins to question her choices, her involvement with the other main character helps her to see what's really important. Yes, if you couldn't tell, the story is very cliche and standard, but it's still sweet. Don't expect anything big; I'd like to emphasize the point that this series is very short, and as such, keep that in mind while reading the remainder of the review.
Art: 8
The art is pretty well defined and nice to look at, but can get somewhat clustered at times. It's a style that almost is reminiscent of One Piece, with overly large and round eyes, and lanky body frames. The inclusion of backgrounds in many of the frames is a nice touch, but it is somewhat distracting and takes your attention from the main action a bit. Also, many of the characters are hard to distinguish, so it can be easy to get lost at times. Overall, it's not too bad though, and I found the way in which the main character was drawn to be rather appealing. There are a few awkward body angles here and there, but nothing too major.
Character: 4
There are only two main characters in 7th Period, supplemented by three minor ones, and a stock class environment. The development for the main character, Shun, isn't too bad for three chapters, and she provides a decent message to the reader through her efforts. Shun could almost be seen as a very slight tsunderekko, however, the inner look at her personal emotions and struggles makes it so that her development avoids this, and although her emotions are a bit rushed, they are understandable and easy to relate to. Beyond that, don't expect too much.
Enjoyment: 7
I picked this series up as just a little something to read during some down time, and it provided me with a decent, realistic, if shallow, story, and kept me entertained for about 10-20 minutes. I didn't go in expecting anything big, just a nice short story, and that's exactly what I got.
Overall: 6
Really, there's nothing too big involving 7th Period. It'll probably take you less time to read it than download it. As a 3 chapter slice-of-life manga, it is appropriately satisfying. If you're bored and are just looking for a quick fix to kill some time, check out 7th Period. Even if you do find that it wasn't to your taste, it's so short that it really doesn't matter.
Score: 25/40; 62.5%
I won't give this series a letter grade based on percentage, since it's too short to really be graded in the same way as longer manga series. read more

May 16, 20083 of ? chapters read 11 of 13 people found this review helpful WARNING: May contain some spoilers.
7th Period is a Secret. Written by Chiba Kozue. This manga really deserves to be read by everyone. It's inspiring, and it has a story that may touch everyone's heart.
The story revolves around Jun and Shun (Shun is the girl, btw). I really found their names cute because it rhymes xD Anyway, the plot itself focuses on a teacher-student relationship which is forbidden. In the manga, Shun was developing feelings for Jun since he was ...the first one to notice what was Shun's real personality was. And that's where this 3 chaptered story starts.
The story, for me seems uncommon because you never see a teacher-student relationship these days. Maybe developing a crush to your teacher. Anyway, this was surely a great story because some may even relate to the story. Chiba Kozue really did a good job on telling the story.
The characters. Describing them, I think I would say that they're funny? Nah, they are those who deal with everyday situations. Since the setting is in a school, they deal with school activites. Anyway, describing Jun. Jun for me, is a happy-go-lucky teacher who loves manga and chocolates. Plus his two pet goldfish. Shun, on the other hand is popular among her classmates. She was once a geek in her previous school. But she changed when she transferred to the school where Jun was teaching and on top of that, Jun is her homeroom teacher.
The ending for me, was a cliffhanger. There were still many questions to answer. Like: "What happens to Jun and Shun's relationship?" ; "Will the principal forbid them to be together?" ; "What will Shun's friends think if both of them enter into a relationship?" Those and more questions needed an answer.
I enjoyed reading this manga simply because it was very interesting to know what will happen between Jun and Shun. Sadly, there are inly 3 chapters. I don't think that Chiba will continue the story up until Shun's graduation. That makes me sad :( but happy because I was able to read a good manga :D
This manga is highly recommended :D read more

Mar 20, 20083 of ? chapters read 8 of 14 people found this review helpful Obviously, this is a very short manga. So the character development wasnt that great, however, all the characters where loveable.
Also, I could easily find myself in the main character, which was a plus {as well as a negative on my personal front xD}.
I actually started crying from about the second chapter throughout to the third, which is extremely hard for manga to make me do, specially the shorter ones.
The art was brilliant, I really really liked it =) It was very cle...an, and the expressions on the characters faces conveyed the different emotions expressed by them beautifully =)
Only thing I found a bit irritating was that the main character didnt seem to bother about a side character {who was only showed on a few panels and not really looked into} who was undergoing the same thing she had went through.
The romance was really quiet something, too. I loved it <3 Specially because neither side semt to be in any doubt that they liked each other. And no REAL obsticle was met in the end. Pretty.
I really would recommend anyone to read this manga, however, because it is a very realistic situation, and could, possibly, happen to anyone =) Just believe ^^! read more
