Both protagonists find themselves crossdressing to impersonate a noble, rich person, coming from a turbulent family situation. They both seriously play their roles while modifying their body and behavior to successfully do the part and get a compensation. Also, both stories are shoujo/josei written by authors that have also made a name for themselves writing BL.

History is spoiler enough for all of these. Called Game takes place during Henry 8th reign, and this took place after his death. They have similar atmosphere though Called Game has nicer to look at art.

Curious about how the Tudor's rule came about? Finding out next time on Dr... Or you can look up Henry Tudor on Wikipedia. The choice is yours. There's also a little gender thing mixed in Baraou.

It's quite strange that between this, Called Game, 7-nin no Shakespeare and Baraou no Souretsu, you have a basic knowledge about the beginning and height of Tudor England: War of the Roses, Henry the 7th, Henry the 8th, Mary Tudor and Elizabeth the First. In any case, 7-nin No Shakespeare takes place after this comic, but the general attitude and atmosphere of Tudor England lingers.
