Novels set in high school, centered around antisocial but smart male lead and his social circle (yes, antisocial lead with a social circle) with plot centered mostly about solving high school related issues.

What's wrong with being mundane, as long as those little things are meaningful to the characters themselves? Slowly pacing story, characters with moderation of personalities, lively worlds' description, enjoyment in little things are the very similarities among the two. Original format overwhelm their adaptations.

It goes without saying that you can read Hyouka's novel/manga or even just watch the anime in order to enjoy "Insomniacs After School"! If you were attatched to Hyouka's characters, please do yourself a favor and read the following manga, their characters are similar and it fulfilled exactly what Hyouka's fans never received (probably know what I mean). Themes and atmosphere of these works are very similar, hence I'm sure you can binge the recommended manga as it's not difficult to read and one of *my* most ENJOYABLE manga read ever - 80 chapters/9 volumes so far by the way!

Novels about antisocial and perhaps cynical protagonist that is constantly being bothered by overly active cute girl and has his life made more interesting by this, against his will.

They both involve a guy and a girl with their friends investigating different cases, with hints of romance. The atmosphere is calm and intriguing at the same time in both. Difference - in Akuryou mysteries more involve the supernatural, unlike Koten-bu.

If you'd take the setting of Koten-bu, that is a protagonist with unusual personality continously being confronted by various mysteries related mostly to people he goes to school with, and you add interesting writing style, well written characters and memorable plot points, you'll get Monogatari Series.
