Synopsis

Suffering from unrequited love, Todou Tsukasa, also called "the moody pillar", walks into a barbershop. The cheerful barber not only gives him a sexy new haircut, but also advice on how to better carry himself. Tsukasa takes that advice to heart and goes on to fame and success. But he never forgets the barber who helped him when he needed it, and keeps dropping by. However, confidence didn't come along with the new haircut nor the fame and success, and his feelings are neither conveyed nor understood well.

User Recommendations

These two yaoi manga both feature a shy high schooler (similar to each other in disposition and tall, broad physique) that falls in love with a beautiful, slightly older and far more confident male. Once their relationships finally start, they need to be encouraged to initiate intimacy. If you like one, you will surely like the other. KOwA and KoR share congruent styles and are very easy one-volume reads. Kouun no Rihatsushi has, in my opinion, more engaging characters and plot, but both are well-done with clean art and a cute romance that you know from page one will end well. Sometimes it is nice to be free of drama when you are reading.
Both mangas give the same vibe of a pure-hearted love. Kou'un shares the story between a shy actor and his barber who changed his life. Kamatte tells the story of a cat-hater who is slowly converted to tolerate cats thanks to a passionate cat cafe worker. No silly drama with melodramatic characters involved.

Both stories have gorgeous art and are filled with humor. Kou'un is still incomplete but Kamatte is a completed two-shot. Both are highly recommended reads.
