Manga: Shitsurakuen
Yuri based in a private school. Status, in a way, is determined by duelling. Though Shitsuraken involves male and female characters, Sora comes across as more princely than any male ever could. A malignant autocracy creating immoral rules exists in both.

Manga: Yuri Kuma Arashi
Both mangas are about the societies problematic view of homosexual love. (Renai Idenshi XX takes on the topic of gender roles too) Its shown in a quite unique way in both cases. Yuri Kuma Arashi goes with an anime of the same title; the manga and anime tell the story from a different angle.

Both stories are about societies where all people are born female. In Simoun they have to choose a sex at age of 16, in XX women act as „men” or „women” to maintain a society with gender roles. Simoun is also about war and is more a sci-fi story, while XX focuses more on romance.

With the numbers of girls becoming extinct. The manga Renai Idenshi XX takes the closest manga for male extinction on earth. Although its the complete opposite for one gender to go to extinction is is the closest you can get to see what a world populated only by women would do.
