Forbidden Dance is a good comic for those who liked Princess Tutu for the ballet aspect, but want a more realistic shoujo about the actual hobby of dancing. The characters are older, so the changing relationships are also more mature, as well as the seriousness about ballet and dance. It's also a nice change from shoujo manga that are 24/7 drama over love and romance, because the most important thing in these characters' lives is their hobby, not true love. Madoka and Ahiru are both two little girls who thinks to have any special ability, they both try to become stronger with the help of ambiguous helpers and have to face all the responsibility coming from this choice. Besides both manga represent really cute girls overcoming big magical problems and even fighting other little girls, who choose their side due to their personal insecurity or worries.

***NOTE: I'm comparing this to the Princess Tutu ANIME. The manga is pretty garbage.*** It's hard to pinpoint the exact things that make me want to relate the two. There's the magical elements intertwined with a regular every day setting, the grounded relationships, the spot on cute and goofy humour and similar motifs regarding hearts, but more than that I just get the same Feeling when consuming both works. One that is hard to describe. All I can say is if you enjoyed one, at least try out the other. I think, like me, you'll enjoy both! :)

Also centered around ballet, but this time with a magical-girl fantasy type storyline. Note: the anime is much better than the manga.

Ballet story with Romance-Comedy...

These are both cute, with animal-transformations, cute characters, and love. In Tokyo Mew Mew, they must save the world, and in Princess Tutu, the main character must save the one she loves.
