They're both set with a focus on the the supernatural world where the two heroines get involved with the ayakashi/supernaturals that are not usually seen by humans, and become a being stuck between the human and supernatural worlds. They share some emotional backstories and good humour, and ofc great art.

-young teenage characters -supernatural world based on japanese folklore (yokai and kemono) -dark humour -smaller plots with something bigger going on in the shadows

Y'all, Dusk Maiden was my fave thing ever for 6 years (2014-2020), then I found Hanako-kun a few weeks ago. I think i have finally been persuaded into liking something else. I guess the most solid rec is... if you like Dusk Maiden for the premise/humor, you will definitely like Hanako. I would say there is a good chance you will like Dusk Maiden if you like Hanako, but not necessarily as much as the other way around. They are pretty different in depth, style, and sometimes tone, but I have said my favorite genre consists of Square Enix serialized, shounen, plot-driven horror comedies with  read more

Similarities -in both there’s a boy who is a ghost -there’s a girl who is their friend -they do stuff together to help others Differences -toilet bound has a little romance -toilet bound has another ml to help (kou kun) -toilet bound is better but shoujo jiten is also good -shoujo jiten is more of a slice of life and less deep They’re basically the same thing, the characters and the situation, the only reason others haven’t recommended this is because shoujo jiten is unpopular and deserves more praise.

they have the same feeling? As in: - a 15 year old girl meets a super natural boy of similar age - the girl is cursed in some way - an exorcist type rival with a relation to family

Both are stories about urban legends and phenomenon in a highschool setting, with a female protagonist collecting these stories in a light hearted and comedic way.

About a kid that can see things the others cant, GoGo monster with much younger kids and taking a more psychological stance based around growing up. Said kid learns the dangers of these things while also enjoying the wonders of them.

They both have a strong romance aspect with good shonen aspects and i feel like Hanako kun is more dark later on in the manga with the relation between hanako and tsukasa whereas yozakura also speeds up nearing the end of the story

Both have got a very similar supernatural vibe. They have a very similar tone and feel in the story so far. The main characters duo in both stories have very similar dynamics. The world of Vanitas is a lot bigger, while Hanako-kun is set in the school but other than that both plots develop at similar paces.

-They same going to school -They same meet at school -They same protect the girl from danger

Both deal with the main characters being introduced to a cool paranormal world, driven by an engaging mystery. Also, both have occasional (and not overblown) action sequences and are just simply fun! Also, the side characters are very prominent and reoccurring, which makes them very important to the story and unforgettable.

Both manga have the same premise, that is a supernatural genre that focuses on solving conflict in each arc while slowly revealing more information or mysteries about characters' past live, personality, goal, etc. Also both are comedic.

Super-natural elements, funny moments that alternate with some darker ones, the entp character that isn't the main character but gets all the simps anyway. Hanako is a bit less mature than JJK, but I love the curse/spirit trope. Give it a try.

It might not be obvious from the start, but in both we see a cute couple that's all fluff and fun despite rather morbid situations, themes of death and the weird surrounding world. And when the manga is serious, it offers you deep characters and complex emotions. All in all, the atmosphere, the genres and some themes are pretty much alike.

Both manga are darker, and get darker the further you get into the manga.

A similar mystery surrounding both the schools 7 witches and the schools 7 mysteries.

The fated love story involving time traveling always makes me think of these both! Tomoe and Amane have a similar tsundere-like personality, Amane more in a childish way and Tomoe giving an adult vibe. Obviously, there's supernatural beings and has that humorous touch and light to watch/read feel, without missing the deep plot:) you will definitely love them!!!!!

Girl meets boy and learns about the supernatural world that lurks beneath their own. They have a bickering relationship but grow to strongly care about each other, facing different supernatural problems along the way, largely in a school setting. Despite their humorous elements, both series also touch on some darker issues too.

- A boy fighting spirits and supernatural creatures in a school. - The protagonist meets a girl who comes to help him solve the school's supernatural problems. - The manga has a certain appeal to comedy. - There is a certain romantic appeal among the protagonists.

TBHK/JSHK IS incredible similar to this manga! If you take away the sly mysterious aspect of TBHK, you'll have THIS manga! - Similarities: Both ML are shorter than the FL Both ML discover that the ways how they've been feeling are not normal, and eventually develop feelings for the FL. Both ML are CUTE AF Both ML are incredibly "powerful", the TBHK version of powerful is supernaturally strong, and the Ore Yome version of "Powerful" is that he's all around good at everything. - There actually is a small mystery element in Ore Yome, in terms of finding out the "past" of the ML, which I found a sincere element to point out! - PLEASE Check  read more

Both series start out with a simple supernatural premise, and become more complex as they go on. Characters are similar, starting out as archetypes but gradually developing in interesting ways. Both have a school setting. Both balance humour, action and the supernatural. They have some horror undertones, that become more prominent later on, as the plot gets darker and the stakes - higher. Hanako-kun has a faster pace than Blue Exorcist.

1. They're both villain of the day mangas about youkai 2. The male MC's have cherubic faces, are older than they look, have a dark past, and have mysterious auras 3. The 2 male MC's (Kantarou/Haruka and Hanako/Kou) in both mangas are an exorcist and a youkai 4. Both of the male MC's have apprentices who they sometimes bicker with, Youko and Yashiro They both have the same atmosphere where you like the characters and you smile at their random adventures or they leave you with the feels. They also both reveal things you didn't know about the characters as the story goes along and they give you the  read more
