Have you ever wanted to read a shoujo that was realistic? Well these two manga are perfect examples of a realistic shoujo. The protagonists feel like they truly exist, and the problems they face are relatable. These two shoujos aren't simply about who is dating whom but the emotions that come hand in hand with falling in love.

both about a celebrity pre teen girl both end up having a special relationship with the bad boy/dangerous kid in class they both grow and mature as the manga goes Komocha is more bubbly then Oboreru Knife but they have a lot of stuff in common

Love, betrayal, and a lot of tears. Both might start off slow, but the minute it gets good, it stays that way. When you start reading, it'll be hard to stop. The main characters both have a similar problem, where they fall in love with the popular boy, but because of something tragic, it ends. And if it can't get any more similar, they start something with their ex's (THAT popular boy) best friend. Amazing story, and I recommend it for anyone who's up for a crying session.

Very strong stylistic match and similar coming-of-age themes

Somehow the male leads in both mangas really resemble each other. Both shoujos have a quite unsual 'bad boy' character who is fearless and influences those around him and both are romances who start in elementary school. Oboreru Knife is a lot darker while I ♥ HS gets really hilarious however they definetely have some common traits.

Although they have very different styles they share a similar feeling, both being coming of age stories with young teens as characters and quite heavy an complex plots that go way deeper than your usual shoujo story. Both deal with juvenile delinquency and have tragedy elements while being pretty realistic at the same time. If you're looking for something deeper than your normal shoujo and you enjoy complex and psychological stories you'll surely like those.

They are both from the same mangaka therefore they have the same art style and the main girls look very similar as well. Although Piece of Cake is more of a josei they are both interesting and unusual romance stories with a slightly tragedy feeling here and there. Both heroines have relationship that face lots of hardships and obstacles. They are definetely both worth reading.
