Sakuragaoka Angels (Manga)

Story: 8/10
Haru, an energetic, honest, and sweet young girl, meets the popular grade schooler Yashima at a bowling rally, and she unintentionally develops a strange interest in him. He's very forward about wanting to date Haru. However, Haru is in love with her childhood friend, Yuusaku, who thinks of Haru like family and rejected her love confession before he left for America one year ago. But now Yuusaku is back! How will both boys respond to learning that they have competition for the role of most important man in Haru's life?

Ill tell you one thing, the ending of this manga was the most dissatisfying ending I have ever read in a shoujo manga. There needed to be SO much more to it, and the way it ended was like the start of a whole new arc. There was just... UGH. Other than that, I loved the story line, the love triangles, and the pacing. It didnt feel rushed, just VERY opened ended. Way too open ended. Rated 8 for bad end.

Art: 8/10
The art was great, I love Yue's style. The only thing I HATED about the art for this series, was Haru's head was extremely huge. I mean, all the other characters had proportional foreheads and skulls, but hers. Hers was huge. Beyond normal. I dont understand the point to making her head look inflated. Ive seen many complaints about that in tons of other places, so Im not the only one who thinks so. Other than Haru's overly huge head, Yue's art was great as always! Shoujo of course, but not too girly and sugary.

Character: 10/10
I loved just about all the characters in this series. Yes, even Ga-Chan, the blabber mouth and misunderstanding maker. The two "Rivals for love" where two great characters, but I think there could have been more development on Yuusaku's side, we didnt see much of him. I think I would have fallen for Yashima, he's like the perfect boy. (Well, not as close to perfect as Okazaki Tomoya from Clannad XD) I think you'll come to love every character, even the dunce Haru.

Enjoyment: 9/10
If it wasnt for the horrible ending, I would have given this a 10. There seriously needs to be another series, or a continuation. Or SOMETHING. Something to make up for the huge cliffhanger at the end. Make up for lost time and help with the love triangle and Haru's feelings. And... do something about Haru's head... Way too big, for her tiny body and compared to everyone else she looked like an alien.
