The source is from a doujinshi called HI SIDE 7, the artists are Hirano Kouta, Hiroe Rei and Yamada Shuutarou. It could be written there but I don't know japanese. Probably many times, if it stuck in my head after what feels like so long. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the opening is the only thing I actually knew about the anime. Happens a lot. I know a lot of openings to animes I have never actually watched, so "what I was doing" is likely just sitting at my computer listening to the opening in the background of another tab. It definitely sounds like an opening. Playing it in my head, it doesn't sound like it would fit the standard anime ending. Of course, endings vary quite widely, but this just sounds very, VERY much like a way an anime would want to introduce itself rather than close itself out. Considering how gothic the music sounds, I doubt the characters were normal. Probably some kind of magical/fantastical element to the characters. I can't think of a gothic-sounding opening that isn't fantasy anime in some regard. As for fighting, I can't say. By the sound of the opening, I would say it is more aligned to comedy than action, but then again, Princess Resurrection has both fighting and comedy, so this answer is a bit harder to pin down. Though most gothic-esque openings are for animes that involve fighting. Rozen Maiden, for example. For the purpose of this question, I would say there is probably fighting in the anime, even if it isn't necessarily a "fighting anime" predominantly. I tried singing it out loud before typing the original post to see if I could make out the words even slightly, but it is all in Japanese, which I do not speak, so I can't formulate reasonably-understandable lyrics. Is it similar to the opening of Another or Soul Eater? |
