| [2016] Edit: I have no idea why and how this thread got resurrected after 7 years. Leaving my first post intact as an embarrassing reminder to myself on how much of a weeb I was in my youth. [2009] Short and simple because time is precious. My suggestion will be to search up Characters and/or People by their birthdates (allowing omission of maybe the year etc). The rest are just details for those interested after reading that line. Because it'll be kinda cool to see which anime/manga characters share the same birthday as you or any of your friends. xD Didn't realize I share the same birthday as Konata if my friend didn't tell me, lol. *shows off* There are birthday directories online, but those are maintained by only one person or a small group of people and aren't updated with the latest anime/manga characters. The reason why I suggested this on MAL is because information are updated by the community, thus keeping it extremely up to date and this feature seems like one of those which can integrate very nicely with the info in the database. Things can be taken a step further by having the option of your profile showing others who you share birthdates with. The problem will be with characters/people whose birthdays are unknown (which, sadly, the majority of them are), but I'm not sure how it'll affects coding this search feature or if it even affects it, or if it'll be worth the effort and time spent on it. Searched 'birthday' and 'birthdate' on the search engine and none of the results showed what I actually want to say. So if this has been suggested before, I apologise for not searching thoroughly enough. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I really don't see how this feature can be included anywhere other than MAL. :) |

| Nah, they better make a birthday calendar for seiyuus. And not for characters, since you won't watch/read anything just because a fictional character had the same "birthday" as you. |
