| Well guys, I have wonderful news! Yesterday (sunday), Kyoto Animation made an announcement during a Clannad appreciation event. The last DVD volume of Clannad After Story will have an episode with the Kyou route/ending animated! Kyou! <3 She finally got the ending she deserves! I'm going to pretend that this alternative version is the true ending of Clannad :3 |

| Well I'm definitely looking forward to this after replaying Kyou's route again. Though a bit concerned on how they'll pull it off with only using one OVA episode for it. Still will enjoy every moment of it when it comes out. Still some time till then but felt like commenting on it. |

| So it's been animated... Kyou is love but this OVA was just messed up. 60% was Ryou being a bitch... There were only half assed kisses, pacing was shit & some scenes could have been done a lot better(rain scene). I gave it a 9 for the TomoyaxKyou moments though. Nothing about Kyou growing her hair again for Tomoya. :( |

I mean, KyoAni managed to squeeze the entire Kyou-story into one OVA without leaving out elements or making it confusing. But I disagree about the rain scene. I think it was done even better than the game. And the ending was just <3 |
| Well I guess my concerns were valid in this case. I think they made a good effort, but it's really hard to condense an entire arc into 20 minutes. All they could do was pick a scene do it quickly and then jump to the next one. I really think the only way to do it proper justice would be through multiple episodes. They got the overall story in there, but it was moving so fast you could barely appreciate one scene before they jumped to the next. But definitely think they had a few really nice moments. The rain scene was definitely my favourite from the OVA and the ending does leave you with a smile. At the very least I can say this was better than not making one at all. Anyways I'm left with mixed feelings. On one hand it had nice moments and yet on the other you can't help thinking about how much better it could have been if they had more time to work with. |
