| It's really hard to find female characters like that in shoujo ...Try Lovely Complex I personally really liked the protagonist ...She was really determined to achieve what she wanted and for once the story wasn't the usual "boy saves girl all the time, boy chases girl , girl is a tsundere, they get together in the end" plot...It was something different |

| Special A Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (she's hardworking, competitive and determined. This is a romance anime hope you don't mind) Dance in the vampire bund (This is a supernatural anime but she is competitive, she works hard and she's determined) Valkyria Chronicles (This is a war anime with a bit of supernatural but alicia is pretty hardworking and determined I don't know if I would say she's competitive there are times when it shows her being like that but not always) Kurokami (she is a female lead that's competitive hardworking and determined to figure out what happened to her family and over come that) Canaan (this is a really great action thriller type, but if you are looking for a really strong determined female this is a good one. She is competitive in a different manner, I believe she wants to beat the chick that killed her mentor so it does have that quality) |

| Well, you can watch Suzuka the anime. Don't bother with the manga though as the author butchers her personality towards the end of the manga. |
