Hey guys, I got a security error while browsing your site with chrome incognito tabs.

I've scanned my comp and can't find any malicious software, so I'm wondering what that was about.
I was hoping maybe you could tell me the reason for the error. Or is it just something to do with incognito browsing?

I forgot to write down the security error code (which was stupid of me, sorry). But the error occurred with this user, at aprox 9:44 today. I hope that helps.

What kind of security error was it? A warning by Google about malware? Also, where exactly did it happen (forum, profiles, db entries, etc.)?

Since you know the approximate time when it happened, you might be able to find the page in question in your browser history. If you can find it again, please post it here, if not, please try to describe the problem more detailed.

There are sometimes problems with user signatures on the forum or images on user profiles that are always hosted on external sites. Sometimes these sites get flagged for being a malware site by Google and then you will get the warning in Chrome. If we know the problematic image we can remove it.

No, it wasn't google, it was a weird third party security message. It basically said that this third-party site managed security for MAL, and that my IP had been blocked for security reasons. After the security message I was unable to see the site using the same incognito tab (if I opened up a normal tab I could still enter the site without any problem).

I've tried recreating the problem today, but now it works fine for some reason.

Unfortunately no. Like I said, I was using an incognito tab. That means that my browsing within the window isn't stored in the history. (Ashamed to say I was checking the site during working hours).

Ok, the problem went something like this: I viewed this page: http://myanimelist.net/blog.php?eid=737125&delCom=123485

I tried to post a simple text comment.

After pressing "Post Comment" I was immediately redirected to a site (NOT MAL) saying my IP had been blocked for security reasons.

After receiving the message I tried returning to the page where I made the comment, but I just kept getting the same error page. I tried accessing different parts of the site unsuccessfully. I opened another incognito tab and the problem persisted. Then I opened a normal tab and I could enter the site unrestricted.
I kept trying to enter the site using the incognito tab, and about 30 minutes later I stopped being redirected to the security message and could enter the site unrestricted with the incognito tab as well.

I don't know, it might be. But again, this wasn't a message from google, as far as I could tell.

My fear is that this actually IS some sort of malware on my computer, because it's weird and I've never seen it. However, I've scanned my computer multiple times since then and I haven't found anything. Also, I've never seen the problem except on this one occasion using MAL.

If the problem occurs again I'll post a screenshot of the message so you can check it out. I hope this all helps.

This happened to me when I was browsing with too many different internet browsers. I had firefox and chrome running at the same time. Firefox runs mal better for me for some reason. So I clicked out of chrome and ran firefox again and never have had this problem since. Sorry don't remember the site it sent me to. Wish I would have captured the screen.

@vmlm:
Then I believe you had the same problem as in this thread: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=664475
See the link in the first post for a screenshot of the error.
I've seen two different error codes so far, 14 and 15. Which one did you get? Do you remember what message you tried to post?
If it happens again, clear your cookies, that should help to remove this message.

@Chibiginger:
Did you get a Google error message or an error message like in the thread I linked above?

That was the one for me =). Believe I tried clearing cookies and it didn't work for me(when I was experiencing the problem). My pop-up seems to have been related to having multiple browsers going at once. So maybe mine was slightly different from other users on that forum.

Do you remember the error code? And maybe what you did exactly before it happened, like posting a message? Were you logged into MAL in both browsers at the same time?

Yup the last one for me. I was on mal and it automatically redirected me to a similar place as that screen shot in the forum you posted. Once I closed chrome and used firefox only the problem didn't appear anymore. I do not know the error code sorry. Hopefully others will speak up if they experienced what I have. Good luck on fixing the problem.
