| Do I sense some in piracy here...? ~18 gig metal ~5.5 gig rock ~4,5 gig jmusic/osts and all that stuff ~3.0 gig punk or punk rock ~1,8 gig other stuff (classics, a capella, whatever) ~1.5 gig comedy I listen to nearly all of it frequently. (except for the jmusic stuff) What I don't like doesn't clutter my hard drive for long. |

| 48.36 GB of Metal out of a total of 70 gigs of music, on a 500gb harddrive. I plan on getting a 1tb to move my anime over to, so my 500gb will be exclusively for music.. Got a lot of Prog and some other goodies in here. Were I to rip all my CDs I'd have the equivalent of about 50 gigs I'd say, since I have over 700 in my personal collection. And about 300 vinyl. And 200 cassettes. Edit: 23.96gb of that is Progressive Metal alone. I challenge someone to show me a bigger section of strictly Progressive Metal |

| I'm currently at ~280 gig music, but I cleaned up a lot the last few weeks, it's normal for me to have about 300-350. 80 gig of that is metal, including prog metal, and 80 gig is prog rock. To be honest, though, lately I haven't been listening to music much, so a lot of what I had on the hard drive had to go. Will probably reach 400 when I'm back to listening more. |

Admittedly I don't buy all my music but I do buy some music as flac with 24 bits per sample at 96kHz or 192kHz, preferably 96kHz. I can't tell the difference when it's above 48kHz anyway. It's mostly to get the best sounding versions of certain albums. I backup all my CDs as flac, extract music from dvd-audio and download the ISO of SACDs that I have and I don't have. So it all takes up a lot of space. |

| People have hard drives designated to music? Man, I wish someone told me to do that at the beginning. Now I have ~77 GB on my main hard drive and I can't move it without erasing my iTunes library and, thus, all of my song plays and ratings. ;-; In addition to that 77 GB, I also have ~110 GB from a fellow metalhead's music collection. Don't really know what the division is, but I'd guess my collection is a good 80% metal. I'm trying to fill it up with more non-metal genres lately, though. |

Folk, melodeath, power, symphonic, atmoblack & prog would probably be the sub-genres I have the most of and enjoy, in regards to metal.
