Well maybe most people can't relate to them that much but I can imagine the pain if you're somehow guilty of the death of someone very dear to you. All of them were good friends but in the end they, like most people, have selfish reasons and couldn't forgive themselves. Unlike most people though, they finally had the chance for a reprieve, to finally apologize and let go of the guilt that has haunt them for 10 years. I'm sure most people would cry as much as Super Peace Busters if they were ever put in the same situation. Poppo is the one that suffers the most. It mustn't have been easy, watching someone close to you die knowing that you could've prevented it. I don't blame him for being so emotional with Menma, I already knew something was terribly wrong with him when he first desperately asked Menma to say whatever wish she wants. Oh an intelligent post on MAL. Didnt think I'd see the day. |
| I see a lot of people saying Menma was annoying I don't understand why. She was selfless, sweet and innocent what's not to like :( And some complain of forced drama which I can understand a few scenes throughout the anime but in the last few episodes the drama is executed perfectly and I don't understand how some people can say they laughed at the last scene because they are all yelling and shouting. That shows that they haven't understood the characters' feelings at all. There's a reason why they are shouting and crying so much and the voice actors did an amazing job. It was a powerful performance and it sounded like they were crying for real. Combined with the animation and music as well makes it too much to handle. |

| Well I found it very emotional and moving, but while I always get the chills over epic or moving scenes, no movie or anime (or other screening, for that matter) has ever made me cry. As weird as it may sound, I'd want to cry during/after some anime series and some movies, but I guess that's just not me. |

| Didn't cry from it, teared up a little bit about one time in the series, but I can see where ones really could cry from it. Still, it felt to much in trying to overwhelm the viewer with sadness to make them cry, I felt it was just sad. |

| Yesterday, I've watched this as an 3,5 hour movie. I do think that Poppo's backstory was forced but it did tie up nicely with his travelings around the world. I didn't shred a single tear during this anime (probably because I haven't lost anyone dear to me yet) but during and after the last episode I started having some chest pain. I really hate it when some anime do that after you have finished watching them but that must be the price for watching a great anime. |
