I like both classical (operas, symphonies) and entertaining music, especially rock of the seventies (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Van der Graaf Generator, Jethro Tull, etc.), modern rock and alternative music (Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Ages, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana), a few metal bands (Therion, Tool, System of a Dawn, Metallica). But I am in favor some trip-hop bands as well (Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky). In world music I like Dead Can Dance and Loreena McKennitt. At the moment I am listening to:

OMG I hadn't heard it yet, thanks for the link!!! I think they releashed their new album one of these days right?! I first came to know them through Bleach with D-technolife, they are freakin' awesome!!!
Oh I know, D'espairsRay, WEDICIИE is COOL!!! I like a lot "Dope" and "Love is Dead"!! :D
Do you like other visual key bands generally? What other j-bands/singers do you like?
I really like SID, the GazettE and lately i'm starting to be into Dir en Grey too!! I like j-metal, screaming in Japanese is pretty cool! :PPP

Btw random, but I started listening to korean music too lately. They have some good stuff there too! O.o

Dir en grey are the band that got me into JRock to begin with, but I also like D'espairsRay, the GazettE, UVERworld, ONE OK ROCK, Alice Nine, BACK-ON and recently some of Miyavi's new stuff too. There's some others too, but those are the ones that I listen to the most :)

I listen to non-JRock stuff too though.

Aside from my (entirely too large) collection of anime OP/ED songs, I have another "random" list that is just that: random. It's hard to explain my music tastes, exactly. If a song's good, I like it. *shrug* 99% of the time I listen to my anime list.

*sigh of relief* You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that I'm not the only one around listening to anime music.

Most of my music IS anime music, be it insert songs/bgm, character songs, opening and endings... I do have some random pop, classical, rock, techno, and dance music in there. When I turn on my TV and listen to one of the channels that play nothing but music, I usually watch the dance/electronica one. Rarely a song I don't like. Just don't ask me what they are - I have no idea. I tried writing them down but I always lose the list.

Right now I'm listening to "Fly Away" from TeddyLoid... which is from the Panty & Stocking soundtrack.

Tbh I am mostly going with songs, I don't exactly follow bands/singers, although I keep in track with some of them If I like them a lot, like UVERworld, SID, the GazettE, Kalafina, Kanon Wakeshima, Kiyoharu, etc..A student in my Japanese class recommended Dir en grey to me, she is a huge fan, she went to see them last year in London, and she sent me some songs a few months ago. I liked their style, so I started searching more on my own.

hehe we are in an anime forum, so it's weird if people wouldn't hear anime music!
So you're def not the only one. Although you're one of the few to speak about it yet, so I hope more will start talking about j-music in this thread!

I first hear most songs in anime too and then I search for the artists. (sometimes from j-drama and video games too-although i almost never play any-). It's an easy way to get to know more j-bands and singers. If I like them, then I search more on their work. Sometimes I get recommendations from people I know about certain bands and singers, so I hear to those too. These are mainly the ways I find out about more j-music.

wow nebula, I love this song!!! I hadn't watched the vid, but it is great too!!
Niki, I always love HIM, amazing music, and totally unique in what they're doing. :)

I am listening to these two songs, one after the other ofc :P

Disturbed - The Night

and this:
Red-Faceless

Although different as bands, both songs have great music in their own genres, and both song lyrics are fuckin' amazing!! x)) Lyrics are the most important thing for me in a song, they have to actually mean sth, otherwise I won't bother much.
Anywayz, two very beloved songs of mine <3

wow bill I loved those songs, especially the first one, I think I'll put it on my i-pod. I see you find songs with good lyrics too.

I always enjoy OneRepublic, nebula, they sort of have their own style with the beats and all. Nice vid too.

I see you listen to anime BGM too, metamprphius, great! There will be a thread about that soon! ;) So you can make a list about your fav choices! :) Stay tuned :PP

Btw I know I said I always appreciate good lyrics, but that doesn't mean I don't like instrumental, actually I looove instrumental tracks, since the lack of lyrics lets you more free to imagine whatever you want, and bring out all sort of emotions! :)

Talking about instrumental tracks, lately I'm very into Dubstep. It's not always only music, but the main idea is instrumental piece and beats!! Oh how I love those beats!!! ^.^
