| Hi all I downloaded Sono Hanibara etc. 's visual novel (thought it's the anime) but found out that it doesn't start, and it says something "Mainwindows: filejoin *and something not in English*" when I double click or Start as administrator.. I thought my system can't play them, but I played a game a while ago (that I found it was a visual novel now). Anyone have any idea of what could be the problem..? |
| Have you changed your location ar what ever it was to japan? because some games wont run if you dont have your location marked as japan. |

| Have you enabled the Japanese locale on your computer? When dealing with VNs, that step is pretty essential. Here are some links to instructions to do that. If you use Windows XP, go to http://newton.uor.edu/Departments&Programs/AsianStudiesDept/Language/asianlanguageinstallation_X P.html If you use Windows Vista/7, go to http://newton.uor.edu/Departments&Programs/AsianStudiesDept/Language/vista.html Choose Japanese at every stage where it asks you select a language. Next, you need to install AppLocale as well so you can run just that program in Japanese. If you are running Vista or 7, follow these instructions in order to install it properly http://www.emreakkas.com/windows-tips/how-to-install-applocale-on-windows-7 That link also includes a link to the AppLocale download page on Microsoft's site. Fianlly, find your VN and select "Locale Japanese" in the right-click menu of the exe file. |

| Man.. that's... weird! I thought I mght be missing somekind of software or I'll have to go play it online somehow.. thanks a lot! But if I have somekind of translated version or a file that makes it translated.. do I have to do something else? |
| if you have patch then just use it and patch the game...after that you should be fine |
