Champloo is lightyears better than this strange no plot kyo anime which was obiously butchered from the manga. :P

Samurai Deeper Kyo has much better character design (art style) and Samurai Champloo has much better action scenes. They're both funny but that's subjective. In terms of plot and characterization, Samurai Champloo is similar to Cowboy Bebop whilst Samurai Deeper Kyo is similar to Bleach. Samurai Deeper Kyo is actually more of a magic show than about samurais, whereas Samurai Champloo has only just plain swordfights. I like the sword fights in Samurai Champloo but I also like the character designs in Samurai Deeper Kyo. I haven't made up my mind yet.
