| Toaru Majutsu no Index Toaru Kagaku no Railgun - Railgun is a spin-off series of Index. Both feature magical/esper/scientific powers, they both have action, fantasy and school life (plus little bits of romance if you squint). Angel Beats! Full Metal Panic - think giant robots instead of superpowers or vampires. But its a good action, and has school-life and romance. Hayate no Gotoku! - Hayate may as well have superpowers. It's a comedy and parody series, with romance and school life elements. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - a magical girl only pops up once in costume. Otherwise, we have time-travellers, espers and robotic girls from outer space. It's a crazy school-life for these characters. So this one has superpowers and fantasy. |

| Seconding Baccano!, Blood+, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann adding xxxHolic- has supernatural powers and is set in modern times. The art can put some people off, but it's pretty neat. ALso has some romance Tetsuwan Birdy Decode- about an alien and a schoolboy. Some romance (not with eachother), and Birdy definietly has alien superpowers. THere's also LOTS of action, and it's set in modern day. Nabari no Ou- about ninjas in modern day, trying to get a boy's ninja superpower. Lots of swordfighting, lots of action, a little bit of romance. And some of it takes place in school. Kara no Kyoukai- lots of fighting with a knife, set in modern day, lots of action, and some romance between the leads. |
