--------Character Occupations----------
Having trouble deciding what your character should be? Here is a list of occupations found in the world of Pokemon.
Trainer: A Trainer collects and raises Pokemon for the sole purpose of battling them and competing against other trainers, both casually and in Tournaments and Leagues. The trainers that strive to be the best participate in Leagues, battling Gym Leaders all across the region, in hopes of earning the chance to take on the Elite Four and the right to be known as a Pokemon Master Trainer!

- Trainer Ranks
Junior Trainer:
Although the title Junior Trainer typically refers to trainers that are under the age of 12, the rank of Junior Trainer applies to all trainers that have not yet earned their first badge. In other words, Junior Trainers are newbies; trainers that are just getting their start, and aren't as experienced as other trainers.
Trainer:
Once a Trainer has earned his or her first League Badge, they lose the title of Junior Trainer and are promoted to Trainer. Trainers have more experience than Junior Trainers, and their Pokemon are slightly stronger because of it. The more Badges a Trainer has, the more experienced he or she is. Their goal is to get all 8 Badges in a region, so that they might get a chance at taking on the Elite Four!
Pokemon Master:
If a Trainer is skilled and fortunate enough to have earned all 8 Badges in a region, and have defeated the Elite Four of that respective region, they have earned the right to be called a Master Trainer! What are the incentives of becoming a Master Trainer? Besides bragging rights and a spot in the Wall of Fame, Master Trainers become much more experienced, and their Pokemon are much stronger, and it is easier for a Master Trainer to catch Pokemon out in the wild, because the Pokemon have much more respect for them.
Pokemon Rangers are protectors of the peace in the world of Pokemon. Rangers use their Pokemon to fight crime, solve mysteries, and protect both the wildlife and other humans from dangerous situations. Rangers are selfless knights of justice who put the safety of others and their Pokemon before themselves.
Breeder:
A Pokemon Breeder 'grows' their own Pokemon. Breeders make a living off of raising and breeding their Pokemon, then selling them to the general public. They typically know a lot about the Pokemon they are breeding, but not nearly as much as a Researcher.
Medic:
A Pokemon Medic is trained and equipped to help Pokemon that have fainted or have been injured. While there is a Pokemon Center in almost every town, having a Medic out in the field can be handy, and are typically a Trainer's best friend.
I know the list is short, and you are not limited only to these. I'm sure there are other types of occupations...and if you think of your own and you want to put it on the list for everyone else, let me know.
Pokemon Medic:there is a Pokemon Hospital in every City and town dedicated to helping sick and injured Pokemon. Medics can go there to work as full-time staff for healing Pokemon patients, but are typically more useful in the field. They can also go there to study medical practices. http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=252787
